If you have looked into email marketing, you have probably come across an email marketing agency or two. You may have even encountered the concept of email broadcast software and mailing list lead generation. But, if you are unfamiliar with the inner working of these strategies, they can seem very confusing. In this article, we'll take a look at each to determine how they work and how they can help grow your business.

Email Marketing Agencies
An email marketing agency can help you to design a direct email marketing campaign to promote your business and increase your sales. Though each agency works differently, most offer advice on mailing list lead generation, introductory emails, email design, email list management, sales promotions, and database marketing. If you need extra help, you be able to find an email marketing agency that can offer you email broadcast software to help you build, send, and track emails.

If you are unfamiliar with building campaigns and email strategies, an agency can offer you the information you need to become an expert on the subject. Most agencies will also provide you with marketing tips to help drive readers to your website and get them to opt-in to your email list.

The price you pay for these types of services can vary significantly. Unfortunately, so can the results. If you are thinking about hiring an email marketing agency, be sure to check their credentials, and ask plenty of questions about how their process works. You may also want to question why the agency stands out among their competitors. If they can't provide you with a good answer, consider contacting another email marketing agency that can offer you more.

Email Broadcasting Software
All companies should have the ability to communicate with their customers efficiently and effectively. Using email broadcasting software can make this a whole lot easier. With software, you can bring your email marketing management in house. This ensures that your email list won't get into the wrong hands, and you will not have to worry about unexpected and unfounded surcharges. Software can be used for newsletter distribution, email marketing, promotions, and much more.

Good email broadcasting software has mailing list creation and editing, email message composition tools, and professional email broadcast. Great email broadcasting software has everything mentioned in the previous sentence, plus data-processing tools, link and email tracking, a bounce-back pickup system, mailing list lead theft protection, an integrated sign-up page, and a double opt-in option.

Mailing List Lead Generation
If an email marketing agency or email broadcasting software won't bring you the leads you need, you can look into the many companies who offer mailing list lead generation. These companies can provide you with qualified leads that you can use to find new customers. However, you will want to be very careful. It is important to get leads suited to your business. If you can't turn the leads into customers, any work or money that you have spent will turn out to be a waste.

If you know how to take advantage of the right opportunity, there's still money waiting to be made on the Internet. You don't need to be a dot-com expert or a computer programmer to open up a whole new world of business opportunities on the World Wide Web. Free public data is the key to a successful low-cost Internet startup.

Customers are out there waiting for you, all you need to do is tap into the power of the free information available everywhere on the Web.

Does it sound too good to be true? I promise it's not, you won't regret becoming a web entrepreneur! You get to be your own boos and earn great money while leaving more time for the things that matter most to you.

You don't need hundreds of thousands of dollars in startup costs, just a great idea and the will to see it through. If you're reading this, you're interested in the potential of your own Internet business. You already have all of the tools you need to succeed!

: Be A Designer At Heart

How your site looks is important in attracting visitors and repeat visitors. And if you plan to charge a membership fee, you can,t expect people to pay for access to a site that is rough on the eyes. In order to ensure that your visitors have a visually appealing experience, you can hire a graphic artist or read up on some ways to enhance the look of your website.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

- Don't overload it: A website with too much information on each page is no fun for anyone. Who wants to scroll for a mile to get to the information they want?

- Don't blind people: Brilliant colors may attract people, but on a website, a neon yellow background is just going to make people hit the Back button. There's nothing that turns visitors off more than an unappealing color scheme. It sounds very minor, but it's true! If they can't read your red text on a pink background, you need to rethink your design.

- Don't be cluttered: Sure, you may need to cram a lot of information onto the website, but that doesn,t mean you can or should throw everything on there. Choose only what is most relevant for the home page. Make sure search queries produce a reasonable amount of results.

A page of 200 results may not be the best choice. Again, people don,t like to have to scroll very far to find the answers to their questions. Plus, scanning a page that,s cluttered can be discouraging and make visitors go elsewhere to find the information they need.

- Use a readable font: Don,t use anything that has curly-cues or looks like Old English script. Rather, use a standard font that is easy to read such as Times New Roman, Arial, Courier or Helvetica. You want to use a font that is both easy on the eyes and compatible with all web browsers. Using a fancy font may look nice on your computer, but it can be thrown all out of whack when viewed on a different computer. Don,t alienate your visitors.

- Keep it simple: There,s nothing that turns a visitor off more than a website that takes too long to load or requires a bunch of additional software or plug-ins to run. If your fancy site intro won,t load or your visitor needs to download a plug-in to view it, most visitors won,t take the time to wait. Make sure your design, layout and navigation are all simple and easy to use and don,t require any special functions.

Of course, there is much more to designing a competent website that these tips, but they should point you in the right direction when it comes to building your site. And remember: when in doubt, there are many websites and books out there that detail how to build a website for consumers.

Many people are interested in finding high income business opportunities through a legitimate home based business. At the same time, most people don't like to sell.

This creates quite a quandary. However, there is a way to achieve your business dreams without selling. It's called Google Adsense.

Google Adsense can help you to create passive income without actively selling a product or service. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, Adsense is a program from Google that can be used to generate advertising revenue. All you have to do is place Adsense on your website or blog. No selling involved, hence the term, passive income.

Adsense is a legitimate home based business that can provide you with solid, yet passive income. What makes Google Adsense better than most high income business opportunities is the lack of work that is involved. Most of the work that you will have to do is done during the initial set-up. After that, you can make money while you are employed at another job, spend time with your family, or go on vacation.

Let's face it; there are not many legitimate home based business opportunities that allow you to do that!

Adding Adsense to Your Website
When incorporating Adsense into your website, you have many different options as to where you want to put the ads, which look sort of like menu system links. By placing the links above, below, or in your own menu, you can get plenty of clicks from people who are browsing your site. You can also use the leader board method and place the links straight across the top of your web pages.

A third option is called the skyscraper method and that involves placing the Adsense links straight down the left side of your template. The final option leaves you placing square and rectangular Adsense units directly in with your content. You can places ads above, below, or within your site text.

The more links you have, the more opportunity you have to make money with this legitimate business opportunity. Some people make five or six figures every year. Google even allows you to track the number of visitors that you have on your site. If you have multiple websites, you can see which one does the best and which one does the worst. This will allow you to decide how you are going to split up your time between your multiple sites.

Sound simple? It is. This is what makes Adsense one of the best high income business opportunities around. There is little work involved and the ability to earn a passive income without ever having to actively sell anything. All you have to do is run and promote your website like you normally would. Of course, the more traffic you have, the better the chances are that somebody will click on the Adsense ads and put money in your pocket. Keep this in mind as you start building passive income with your Adsense campaigns.

Many people wonder how they can work from home and make money on the Internet. The easy two word answer is niche marketing. Niche marketing involves focusing on a group of people or a specific niche market. While this isn't a new concept, it certainly is underused by new businesses, especially in the Internet market.

Those who participate in niche marketing are known as niche marketers. Simply put, niche marketers define a need and then supply a demand. Though niche marketing is one of the simplest business concepts around, it is, more importantly, one of the most profitable.

If you are interested in beginning your own business and making money on the Internet, but have no interest in competing with long established Internet gurus, you need to check into the concept of niche marketing. By becoming one of the many niche marketers who are already on the Internet, you can carve out a market for yourself and begin making money quickly.

If you're still a little confused about the concept of niche marketing and niche marketers, the list below offers a few examples of exactly what a niche market is.

Animal shaped kitchen utensils
Products pampering new moms
Informational sites geared towards babysitting toddlers
Informational sites geared towards training German shepherds

The list could go on and on, but you get the idea. A niche market caters to a very specific group of people who have very specific needs. Your best bet will be to train your energies on something that is familiar to you or something that you are interested in. This will help you to produce a quality website and a quality marketplace for your customers.

Keep in mind, that informational or how-to sites are very profitable and popular. Even if you will have a simple marketplace, you may want to include articles and other textual items of interest on your site for your customers. Many niche marketers have employed this concept to much success.

And, you also don't want to be afraid to make your niche markets as narrow as possible. You can always expand later on. That's the beauty of niche marketing. For example, if you want to build a business based on martial arts, start small and focus on one particular area, such as Ju Jitsu for women. This will ensure that you have less competition as you get your new business rolling.

Remember, start small. The first products on your site may be ebooks dedicated to the subject of Ju Jitsu for women. Later, you can begin adding Ju Jitsu accessories and products, more ebooks, and possibly even video classes. It's not about making millions; it's about making that first dollar. After that, you can always expand and grow from there.

Making money online is easy if you target the right group of people and present the right product. That's what niche marketing is all about. Join the many niche marketers who have made a go of it and create your own niche market today.

If you wanted to buy the best quality coffee, would you go to Starbucks or McDonald's?

Both sell coffee, but which one should be the best?

That's right. Starbucks. Because coffee is their area of expertise. It's who they are. It's what they do. It's all they sell.

They have positioned themselves as coffee experts, so people are willing to pay Starbucks more money for coffee than they are willing to pay McDonald's.

But why should you care about the cost of a cup of coffee?

You shouldn't - unless you want to learn how to make more money with less effort.

In a world where 300,000 books are published each year and one simple keyword search gives you more than 1,000,000 sites to choose from, it's safe to say that information is not a scarce commodity.

The truth is that people are bombarded with too much information everyday, especially on the Internet.

The Internet makes providing information to your customers easy. All you have to do is put up a website. The only problem is that it is just as easy for your competitors to put up a website with the same information.

In other words, you are fighting with hundreds (or perhaps thousands) of other people for the attention of the same customers.

The real problem is that your customers only have a limited amount of attention to give to the abundance of information available to them.

So they skip from site to site as fast as possible in hopes of visiting as many sites as possible.

During this frantic search, they don't know how to decide whom to trust to provide the best and most accurate information.

So your job is to grab their attention and help them trust YOU.

The simple way to do just that is to become an expert.

People pay attention to you when you demonstrate that you have specific knowledge in a specific area.

Did you know that FedEx lost nearly 30 million dollars in its first two years of business?

People didn't pay attention to them because they tried to be great in three areas of service: overnight, 2-day and 3-day delivery.

But when they refined their focus and positioned themselves as experts in overnight delivery, they captured the attention of people who "absolutely, positively" needed a package delivered overnight.

FedEx is not the only company who has succeeded by becoming experts. What businesses capture your attention when you want:

-Office supplies?
-Towels?
-Shoes?
-Pizza?
-Tools?
-Electronics?
-Doughnuts?

The more specific and focused you are, the greater your chances of success in business.

------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

Online shopping is quite common these days in the developed world than it was about 5 years ago but it is not the same in India for its own set of reasons. In developed economies consumers find the worldwide web a great place for bargain-hunting, with most goods available at lower prices than in a bricks-and-mortar store. But convenience appears to be an even bigger attraction as revealed in surveys because most online shoppers find the crowded high street too stressful.

Though online shopping has witnessed growth in India but it is still not pervasive like the west and the growth is also limited to certain areas like online travel booking and perhaps stock trading (which actually is not pure e-commerce). The main reason why shoppers in India are not willing to shop online is that they don't get any real value or incentive. Also they are wary about fraud, delivery and customer service and their fears are not imaginary.

The first issue that online consumers are facing in India is the narrow range and limited choice of merchandize. Even the leading sites like ebay.in, indiaplaza.in, indiatimes or rediff have very limited range of items and therefore are hardly attractive. I personally searched many a times for books and music titles among other things in the Indian sites but seldom found any great product and never exciting prices.

In spite of limited range still some consumers want to buy online just for the sake of convenience but then their experience is also not good. There are too many cases of delayed delivery, damaged or inferior goods, quality issues and even instances of cheating where the goods were never shipped.

Once I bought 3 items from Sify shopping to gift a friend of mine and to my horror I came to know that out of 3 items only one was okay, another was damaged and the third once never sent at all. Needless to say there was no help from sify customer care and my complaint only fell to deaf ears and I was actually cheated. My experience with ebay.in was also bad; I ordered an electric hot plate which took more than double time than it was promised and finally one of he hob went off just after 2 days.

But the worst part of Indian online shopping is most of the goods are actually priced more than the street price which is just so ridiculous. Some sites like rediff and indiatimes do sell some cheap items but then they are mostly unbranded or low quality Chinese goods and basically waste of money. Here in India, you cannot expect any thing from your online merchants; no killer deals or exciting prices, no delivery guarantee, no after sales support or replacement warranty.

So as long as the online shopping sites continue to give raw deals to the shoppers buyers in India would prefer to shop from brick-and-mortar stores where at least they can inspect the product and bring them back for replacement or refund if found faulty. And this trend is quite natural as why one would buy some inferior goods at higher price where there is no commitment of delivery or after sales service. There are some people who are buying on net but in most cases they are one-time customers who will think twice to visit again after burning their fingers.

This is not an imaginary account and anybody can easily check out the facts about the customer satisfaction level of online shoppers in India. Just visit any product review website and start searching for keywords like "ebay". You will find lots of complaints and damning reviews which actually speak about the harassment and misfortune that these poor consumers had to face as they chose to buy online.

However, there is a demand for e-commerce in this country as people have less and less time to shop. I need not go to a store to buy books, music or gift items and if I can get a better price and some guarantee of after sales I will even buy capital goods like fridge or laptop computers from net.

Today consumers are looking for real good deals and they are not fools that you can hoodwink them. I am sure there are more people in India who buy books and music from amazon than those who shop regularly at rediff or indiantime and they do it because they can trust Amazon and get value there even if they have to pay hefty handling charges for the distance.

I purchase books regularly from amamzon because I know I will find any damn book in that site and I need not look around. Their customer service is also impeccable and on most occasions they have shipped before the expected delivery date. Precisely, this is the kind of value what the Indian shopping sites need to deliver to Indian customers because as the shopper will find value they will have no problems to shop online.

The opportunity is huge for making money with products available in the public domain which is the main reason I've put together this expanded section for you to learn from.

Where is public domain content available? There are literally millions of creative work-books, music, music scores, films, photographs, artwork, images, and much more that exist in the public domain. But if they're so public, why are they hiding?

The short answer is: they aren't. There are a multitude of well-known works that people don't realize are now considered public property. From classic literature to non-fiction works on a wide variety of topics; silent films, classic movies, vintage cartoons and beloved songs; even some instantly recognizable artwork and images can be found in the public domain.

Below you will find several methods of finding public domain work that you can use in any way you like to start making money.
Internet Searches

Where would we be these days without the Internet? There are literally millions of resources on the world wide web, available for anyone with the knowledge and patience to find them.

Search engines are a good place to start. Though Google remains the most popular and effective, not every site is listed on the search titan. Try running the same search on multiple engines: AltaVista, Dogpile, Yahoo, and MSN Search are just a few of the many options out there. (And if you really want to start out big, you can run a search for search engines first, then check each one in turn.)

Here are a few examples:

? public domain work examples
? list of free public domain work
? free public domain books
? public domain web site

A note of caution: don't trust everything you read on the internet. Always find out where the web site owner got the information (for example, you can probably trust data from the Library of Congress, but not from my next door neighbor Bubba who runs a successful business out of the trunk of his car.). Generally, if the same title shows up in multiple searches, it's probably public domain.

You can also find forums, message boards and e-groups dedicated to public domain news and discussions. Check Internet directories or do a search for "public domain forum" (also: substitute group, list, board, news, or community for "forum") and you'll discover more information than you will need. Be sure to visit groups, lists and forums, before joining read through some of the posted messages and member profiles to determine whether the other people involved seem easy to talk with and open to new members with lots of questions. The Internet community is often a wonderfully supportive place to find people with similar interests, and most are willing to share the experiences they've gained.

A few of the many public domain resource sites available:

Classic Book Library: A free online library featuring literary and genre novels in the public domain, from authors such as Jules Verne, L. M. Montgomery, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Viewable chapter by chapter in HTML.

Project Gutenberg: An enormous collection of novels, non-fiction books and other written work in the public domain, all available free in downloadable e-book format.

RetroFilm -com: Provides a catalogue of public domain movies, television shows, cartoons, musicals, documentaries and more. The site serves television broadcast companies and does not provide copies of film footage for individuals, but it is a great place to find titles which you can then track down a copy of elsewhere.

Public Domain Report: The site of a monthly newsletter that reveals significant works as they enter the public domain. Each issue features selections and samples from a variety of medium, at least one new book, film, play, song, image, and children's work are included every month, from well-known authors, artists and creators like Dorothy Parker and George Gershwin. A one-year subscription will set you back $395, but for those who don't have the time or inclination to do extensive research themselves, it is an excellent source of fresh material.

Public Libraries

Libraries are an excellent and free resource for finding public domain material. Pick a subject that interests you and scan the shelves for older books relating to the topic, or spend an afternoon browsing through the card catalogue. Most of the time, the publication date is right near the beginning of the listing on the card, so identifying works published before 1923 is a simple matter.

Most librarians are quite knowledgeable about their library's collections and are happy to help you find exactly what you're looking for. If you're planning a visit to the library, it's advantageous to make up a list of questions regarding the object of your search and approach the librarian before you do anything else, particularly if you are going to a small local library. Larger state-run library and university library staff members may not have the time or resources to devote personal attention to every patron.

There are many people who are looking to start a business online. Some are simply looking for a way to make a few hundred a month to pay a few bills while others are looking for a way to leave their current jobs.

There's so much information online about making money that you can easily get lost. Sign up for a few lists of those who offer money making information, you can get bombarded with messages that simply leave you confused.

If you want to start a business online, then you need to ask yourself a few questions first. I would recommend you get a notebook or open a text file on your computer. The work you do with this exercise will really help you clarify your new business and save you a lot of time.

Do you want to sell your own products and services, or do you want to sell someone else's?

If you don't want to hassle with customer service, or creating products and services, then selling someone else's products for a commission might be the ideal situation for you.

What are you passionate about?

This is something that you are deeply interested in that you could turn into a business. We all have something that we're passionate about we could make money from.

How much money do you want to make?

It's been said there's really no difference between making $100 and $1,000,000. However, a certain amount of effort will be required regardless of how much you decide you want to make.

The amount you want to make should be one of your goals. You should quantify this.

For example, if you're selling a product for $20, and you want to earn $10,000 each month, you'll need 500 customers.

Will you build a website and buy a domain? Building a website and buying a domain demonstrate that you're a professional.

Can you learn to write? This really isn't as difficult as it sounds. If you plan to market your business, and you're starting out on a shoestring, you'll need to learn how to write your sales materials.

If you can afford it, and the writing doesn't appeal to you, then outsource it. There are plenty of sites online where you can find others to outsource this kind of project to, and they're relatively inexpensive.

How do you plan to market? Your personality and skills are vitally important here. No matter how effective a marketing technique is, if you won't do it, then the technique is really useless to you.

This is where your personality comes in. Choose marketing techniques that fit with your personality. If you like to write, then articles, press releases, and ebooks may be right for you. If you don't, then you can learn to write ads, or market using pay per click or search engine optimization.

Consider your skills too. If you're not a very good writer, you may need to polish your skills. If you don't like marketing, then you'll need to learn. It's not as painful as you may think. You may still want to consider outsourcing this too if you won't do it yourself. In the end, you'll save time and money instead of driving yourself crazy because you aren't doing it.

Now, once you've written your answers down, it's time to formulate a plan for how you will get each task done.

3. Choose a topic "with legs": visitors will return to your website more than once, using you as a trusted reference. With careful planning, the topic area you choose can do half the work of drawing customers to you.

Ebooks have become a very common commodity on the Internet. You can now download ebooks from many different websites and you can even visit an ebookstore to find these information products. Ebooks are hot sellers because today's computer savvy generation spends a great deal of time reading ebooks for learning and enjoyment purposes. Some in the book industry have even begun to predict that ebooks may make traditional printed books obsolete within the next 20 years.

If you have an online business or if your are thinking of starting one, you may want to consider creating and selling informational ebooks on your website. Sound intimidating? It's really not. Ebooks are generally shorter and easier to create than the traditional book. They are also much less expensive to produce. You can create an entire ebookstore for only a fraction of the price that it would cost you to publish and print one traditional printed book.

To write an ebook, all you need is a unique information product, a target audience, and a computer. Ebooks can be created on a multitude of programs and easily turned into a reader friendly PDF document. If you don't know how to do this, there are many different tutorials that can be viewed on the web free of charge. These tutorials offer step by step instructions to guide you through the entire process.

Once you have written several ebooks on different or similar topics, you can create an ebookstore. Those who visit your site will appreciate the different ebook options and the instant ability to download ebooks containing the information they want and need. Plus, with shipping costs on the rise, free downloads are a budget-friendly commodity. Studies have shown that online shoppers are more likely to buy something if they do not have to pay shipping costs.

Almost everyone has some sort of knowledge that can help others, which is why anyone can create an ebook. The key is to come up with an in demand topic that uses your special knowledge. Once you have thought up a topic, you can develop an outline or a writing plan to guide you through the process of writing ebooks.
If you need inspiration or help organizing your thoughts into ebooks, you may want to consider investing in a guide that teaches you how to market your knowledge. A good guide to try is Make Your Knowledge Sell.

If you have a topic that you are passionate about, the best-selling Make Your Knowledge Sell ebook is the perfect place to start. This ebook can show you how to develop your unique knowledge into an online business. You will also learn how to target a customer base, create a website from the ground up, and make your business succeed.

If you have the knowledge, but are concerned with your ability to write ebooks and express your ideas, there are also tools on the market that can help fine-tune your writing skills. One example is the Make Your Words Sell ebook. Just about every aspect of copywriting is covered in this comprehensive guide, which includes information that you will not find in any other marketing book. No matter what kind of products you sell, you will learn how to sell more by using the right words.

Ebooks are the future of publishing. With a small amount of knowledge and a large amount of determination, you can give your customers the ability to download ebooks that you created. And who knows, you may even make more money than you ever imagined by owning and marketing your own ebookstore.

Online business: how do we redefine professional blogging? It seems unlikely to many people that by simply writing a blog, you can have a sustainable online business. Blogging per se does not rake in the income. It comes down the line with using blogs as an internet marketing business tool.

Many home business ventures actually use blogging as a form of promoting their products and services. On the other hand, a number of those who are blogging as form of online business are not making a lot of money at all. So what seems to be the problem?

Many home business ventures that rely on professional blogging and monetizing it with blog ads end up on a plateau of a few dollars per blog. A bookseller business, for example, that uses blogging as an internet marketing business tool might end up with a blog that does not generate income and a book or an e-book with no takers. The usual advice would go is to generate more traffic to the site, but how does one do that?

In order for your home business to thrive or at least rise from mediocre income, you need to generate more traffic to your site by creating more quality content to your blog or blog site. By producing more content that your presumed readers would like, need and want, you would have a steady stream of people checking and revisiting your site.

There are blog sites that are doing fairly well, but the really successful ones have a readership of over a hundred thousand. So, for your bookseller home business blog site, imagine the difference between a hundred visitors and a hundred thousand visitors, and what the difference in traffic can do for your online business.

Then again, writing blogs that many people might like may not be as simple as it sounds. Some home business blog sites might even generate pages upon pages of blogs and still not get enough traffic. Obviously, this kind of internet marketing business tool is not working for several reasons.

These reasons may include:
1) A lack of consistent or useful information when it comes to blog posts and topics.

2) An eclectic grouping of topics may be fun to write; but for people looking into details of your bookseller home business (or whatever online business you have,) this can be quite confusing.

Also, a non-informative blog is such a waste of time for those who are seriously in need of data. Others may simply become frustrated with your blogs and cop out. If you really want to make blogging a successful internet marketing business tool, try to group your blogs together according to relevant and instructive topics. Not only does this encourage your readers to learn more about your book, e-book or bookseller home business, it also shows a great focus of ideas on your part. Attract customers to your blog, but don't overwhelm them.

Insular blogging :-
Insular blogging is basically relying on the contents of your blog and hoping for the best. You don't make reference about other bloggers, other blog sites, and / or other web sites. You don't create links to anyone else except your own site. As a rule, insular blogging isn't wrong. Many bloggers do this. Unfortunately, insular blogging does not work for any online business that aims to barter, rent or sell products and services on the web.

If you want your bookseller home business to prosper (when it comes to traffic,) you may want to link to other blogs, blog sites and / or websites that have relevant topics to your own. But be careful, not all seemingly relevant sites will help you sell your book or e-book. Choose your links wisely.

Your chosen niche is already dominated by other blog sites and web sites that are more superior to yours
Content may be important, but so is your internet marketing business niche. It is imperative to find your own niche in the web: one that is not too populated or with too many competitors. If your niche is overgrown with experts in the same field of interest or topic, it is very probable that your site's traffic will be less than desirable.

Finding a niche that is useful to your bookseller home business will take a lot of research and time. However, if you do find one, then the next few steps of promoting your site should be easy.

Ezine advertising is one of the most targeted forms of Internet advertising available. When you place an ad in an ezine, the readers who see it already have an interest in your product. For example, readers who subscribe to an ezine on pet care will have a strong interest in pet care products and services. Unlike spamming and unsolicited emails, ezine advertising is considered to be an acceptable form of contacting others on the net.

If you do not currently offer an ezine to your site visitors, you may want consider doing so. Ezines are relatively simple to create and provide a low cost option for advertising. An ezine can contain information about your products and services, along with general news and information about the industry that you work in. Business owners who operate an ezine can easily incorporate ezine advertising into their own publication.

The majority of ezines are weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly. Whatever publication frequency you decide on, it is important to stick with it and be consistent. As time passes, your readers will come to expect the ezine in their inbox at a certain time or on a certain date. As publisher of the ezine, it is your job to make sure that the ezine is delivered.

If ezine publication isn't for you, don't fret. You can still use ezine advertising to your advantage. All you need to do is locate an ezine that relates to the products and services offered on your website. Contact the publisher of the ezine and inquire about ezine advertising. You can either negotiate to pay for the ad outright or you can inquire about an advertising trade.

If you are having a hard time finding an acceptable ezine, type 'ezine advertising' into a search engine to see what comes up. There are now many websites dedicated to publishing ezine directories. Most of these directories only include ezines that sell advertising space. This makes finding the right ezine and the right advertising opportunity quick and easy.

Here are the most common types of ezine ads and the typical cost.

Classified Ads. These ads are often small and inexpensive. A classified ad normally consists of three to five lines and will often be placed with other classified ads. This type of ezine advertising can be purchased for $10.00 or less, depending upon the circulation of the ezine.

Sponsor Ads. Though these ads are a bit more expensive, $20.00 on average, they typically provide more prominent placement. Sponsor ads are often included at the top of the ezine and will be the first bit of text the reader sees when opening the email.

Solo Ads. This type of ezine advertising can be the most effective and the most expensive. Solo ads are not usually part of the ezine itself. Instead, these ads are sent in a separate email to everyone who is on the ezine mailing list. The benefit to this type of ad is the amount of detail that can be included. Solo ads can be as long as 700 words and can include graphics of your choice. But, the advantage will cost you. Solo ads can cost anywhere from $40 to several thousands of dollars.

No matter which type of ad you choose, you will find that ezine advertising can promote your business and boost your sales. It is one of the most effective and cost efficient forms of Internet advertising available today. If you've never looked into ezine advertising before, try it once or twice. You may be very happy with the results.

The term affiliate marketing is used to describe an advertising agreement between a website owner and a merchant. If you have researched Internet home business opportunities, you know that affiliate marketing is one of the most simple and profitable opportunities on the web. Most affiliate marketing programs cost nothing to join, which means that there is no financial risk involved for you.

For the most part, getting started is easy. There is no previous sales experience required, and as mentioned above, there is no charge to join most of these programs. Most programs provide all of the marketing materials you will ever need, including site graphics and links. You also don't have to worry about many of the other things that come with an online retail business, such as inventory, order processing, and shipping.

However, these programs, like any work at home business, requires an organized plan of action if you want to succeed. To assist you in developing a plan, Web Business Tools has created a list of affiliate marketing tools that are essential for every work at home business.

Tool Number One
Your Own Website

When it comes to affiliate marketing, your website is not only your most important tool; it is the key to your success. In addition to being user-friendly, your site should also be credible and professional looking. If you are interested in using one of these programs as an Internet home business opportunity, you will want to begin by building a website that will serve your needs. To come up with ideas, search the web and see what others are doing. Assess these other sites to determine what you like and what you don't like. Make notes as you go and use them to develop an original and unique website that can stand out among the competition.

If you are unable to build your own website, there are many different professional web development companies who can. They may also be able to help you develop optimized content that will be relevant to your Internet home business opportunity. If you are not interested in hiring someone, there are also software programs that can be purchased which will teach you all about website building and website development.

Tool Number Two
Incentives

To be successful in affiliate marketing, you must encourage people to click on links for the products and services that you are promoting. To help build a clientele, create an opt-in email list, newsletter, or e-zine. If you really want to increase the profits of your work at home business, offer incentives, such as free software, services, etc., that will encourage people to subscribe to your publications. As with any Internet home business opportunity, promotion is the difference between success and failure.

Tool Number 3
Links

Affiliate marketing success depends heavily upon the traffic that comes through your website. Your search engine ranking typically determines your traffic level, but another factor is link popularity.

To gain link popularity, you can submit your site's link to other websites, free newsletters, etc. The more times you submit, the more chances you have to become a popular destination, which in turn, provides you with more chances to make your Internet home business opportunity a success.

Having your own work at home business can be a satisfying experience. If you want to make the dream come true, give affiliate marketing a try. By taking time to learn more about affiliate marketing programs, affiliate marketing tools, and other Internet home business opportunities, you can develop a successful work at home business.

Interested in an easy new way to start up your own Internet business? In this short article I am going to talk about how you can start a quick and easy business using totally free content.

I am talking about public data as the sole content for your new money maker.

So why should you make your own Internet start-up with public data? Just look at some of the benefits:

It,s Easy

The hardest part of making money from public data sources is finding the source of data! And let me tell you: that's pretty easy, too! These wells of information are easy to find, easy to organize and easy to market. Is that enough "easy" for you?
It's Cheap

Much of the time, public data sources are just that'public. This means that the information belongs to the general public and is free. Free! It should be noted, however, that not all data is free. Be sure you find a data source that has yet to become a part of a proprietary work. Finding public domain information makes it possible for you to spend virtually nothing to start up your site. The outcome is immediate profit with a very low overhead.
It's Versatile

You can do just about anything with a public data source. There are so many public data sources out there that you're sure to find the particular genre that suits you perfectly. If you want to give people access to magazine subscriptions, the information is out there and you can. If you want to share all of the best horoscope websites with your visitors, the data is out there, and you can do that too. The versatility comes with the data source format. The profits come from finding a unique market for which you can offer extensive data and information from all over the Internet on one site that's convenient and organized.
No Special Training

You don't have to be a web specialist, be fluent in MySQL or even have a firm grasp on Internet trends. All you need is a profitable data source and the drive to see your project through. You can take a heap of unorganized data and information and transform it into a convenient, organized website that can be navigated and searched with ease.

Public data consists of anything compiled by many new sources but lets use home foreclosure data in this example. Many only court databases have this data available, and many real estate agents or mortgage brokers would love to have access to this kind of data for purposes of buying and selling these houses.

There are many other reasons one would want this kind of data such as car dealers, because once one files for bankruptcy they can not do so again for seven years, so these are prime candidates for sub-prime auto loans, they are almost an instant approval.

Can you think of any other ideas for this kind of data?

Dionisio Gomez is an accomplished Internet Marketer. He has been successfully selling and promoting products for more than 5 years. Dionisio has an amazing site set up where you can find more of his products on Public Data at http://www.lowcostinternetstartups.com

There has been a lot of buzz around blogging lately, and for good reason. Weblogs, or blogs for short, are changing the way people market themselves and their businesses.

If you aren't familiar with blogging, the concept is relatively easy to grasp. Blogs first began as a shared online journal. A blogger posted diary-like entries about his or her daily life for others to read.

Recently though, blogging has evolved into a new form of business writing and advertising. Many business owners now use blogs to promote their goods and services. Others use blogs to promote their website and get higher search engine rankings. Some politicians even use blogs to reach voters.

The typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media that is somehow related to the blog topic. Though most blogs focus on textual contant, a blogger may include videos, pictures, and even audio in blog posts. A blog comprised of videos is called a vlog and a blog that uses pictures is called a photoblog.

The Benefits of Blogging
By adding blogging to their marketing campaigns, business owners are able to market their product with virtually no out of pocket expense. In some cases, bloggers may even be able to make large sums of money with their published blog. For example, a blogger who employs the Google Ad Sense program can make money from blog readers. The more readers a blogger has, the more money can be made from the Google ad.

A blogger can also be a guide for shoppers who are looking for specific products and services. This makes blogging an excellent tool for retailers or affiliate marketers. Blogs can also be a source of valuable information and niche industry news.

Because there are virtually limitless possibilities provided by blogging, it is easy to see why blogs have begun to have a significant impact on mainstream marketing practices. Many companies have noticed this and have chosen to hire a blogger to write and post up to date information for customers, shareholders, and employees.

Some blogs now get millions of readers every single day. There are so many blog readers out there, that experts speculate that the world of blogging is rivaling the mainstream media. New blog search engines are also being created to make searching for a blog easier than ever before.

If you have not yet established a blog for your business, you may want to consider doing so as soon as possible. Keep in mind though that it will take work to attract readers to your blog. It must be interesting or valuable to them in some way. A blogger must also concentrate on creating informative pieces that are as honest and up to date as possible. Blogging is serious business and if you make a mistake, it will not go unnoticed by your readership.

If you need help developing your blog, there are many different browser-based software programs on the market that can help you get a start. Blogs can also be hosted by dedicated blogging services or regular web hosting services.

Last, but not least, a blogger must remember to optimize blog writing for search engines. Blogging is an Internet medium and needs to be approached with Internet principles in mind.

Blogging Example
A typical blog entry includes a title or headline, a body of text, a permalink or URL for another web page, and a post date, which indicates the date and time that the post was published. A blogger may also choose to include a link at the bottom to allow readers to post comments on the blog.

Niche markets provide a product or service for a specific group of customers who have very specific needs. One of the biggest mistakes that new online business owners make is ignoring the concept of niche marketing and focusing on big markets that appear to be big moneymakers.

While this can be quite tempting, there is simply too much competition in the big markets. Those who are new to the online business world don't stand a chance of competing against companies who have already cornered the market.

With niche marketing, it is a different story. Entrepreneurs can significantly increase their chances of success by focusing on specific niche markets. You determine a need and develop products and services that will satisfy that need.

Niche marketing also provides you with an opportunity to market to a very specific audience. By targeting your audience, you can easily tailor advertising and promotional campaigns that are almost guaranteed to work.

By now, you're probably wondering how to go about finding niche markets. Fortunately, it's much easier than one would think. The key is to find a group large enough to produce a reasonable volume of business, but small enough to be looked over by your competition.

The following steps will teach you the ins and outs of finding a niche market.

Step One
The first step involves research and may take some time on your part. If you need to, break these research sessions up over a span of a few days. This will ensure that you have ample time to properly research potential niche markets.

To start, open two Internet windows. Set one at www.google.com and set the other at http://inventory.overture.com.

Step Two
To find niche marketing opportunities, start doing a few searches in these search engines. Try basic products that you may be interested in selling, such as digital cameras, computer software, or Siamese cat toys.

By entering products into these two search engines, you can find out the number of searches the products have per month and determine how much competition exists in the market. Google and similar search engines will tell you how many results pages are out there for a specific search term, allowing you to gauge the extent of your competition, and http://inventory.overture.com will help you determine what sort of customer base you have be telling you how many people entered a specific search term in a given month.

Step Three
Analyze your findings. The level of competition that can be found in the market determines the best niche markets to get into. Though some competition is good, too much competition is bad. Niche marketing only works if there is demand and a market for the product or service that is being sold.

Though opinion varies when it comes to the numbers, in general, a word that has between 10,000 and 2,000,000 searches per month is considered an opportunity for niche marketing. Let's see some examples:

Example 1
Digital Camera
The term yielded 1,312,659 searches and 239,000,000 results pages. This is a big market with plenty of competition.

Example 2
Computer Software
The term yielded 101,294 searches and 1,550,000,000 results pages. This is a big market with HUGE levels of competition.

Example 3
Siamese Cat
The term yielded 16,314 searches and 1,800,000 results pages. Niche marketing could work here! This has high search volume relative to competition.

Step Four
Choose your niche. Now that you have some niche markets to choose from, you can find the one that is the best fit for you. Afterwards, all that is left to do is enjoy your niche marketing experience.

Finding an accommodation or a hotel after having reached a particular destination is quite time consuming as well as expensive. Here comes the importance of online hotel booking facility. Online hotel booking is one of the latest techniques in the arena of internet that allows travelers to book a hotel located anywhere in the world and that too according to your tastes and preferences.

In other words, online hotel booking is one of the awesome facilities of the internet. Booking a hotel online is not only fast as well as convenient but also very cheap. Nowadays, many of the hotel providers have their sites on the web, which in turn allows the users to visit these sites and view the facilities and amenities offered by each of them.

Booking hotels online is quite easy. All you have to do with regard to booking online is to search for hotels in your desired location, in top search engines such as Google or Yahoo. Then, thousands of results will be displayed.

Select one among them that goes with your requirements. Once you chosen a hotel of your taste, inform them regarding your requirements and which type of room you are looking for. In addition to accommodation, some hotels may provide packages inclusive of transportation within the place, sightseeing, dining, and opportunities to enjoy a variety of recreational activities.

It is evident from the aforesaid discussion that online hotel booking provides substantial benefits. But, it is important to make a thorough investigation before choosing an online hotel booking facility.

First of all, check whether the hotel company you have chosen is legitimate, since identity theft is becoming common nowadays via hotel transactions. It is therefore advisable not to give your vital information such as credit card number unless sure of legitimacy of the hotel providers.

Further, there are certain unscrupulous hotel firms promising great deals at first, and on receipt of bank account details or credit card information, they may charge incredible later. Hence, it must be checked for.

Likewise, beware of such hotel companies requiring immediate action. Al though, it may be true there may be shortage of rooms especially in peak seasons, try to check for the reputation of the company, particularly if it is a less-known hotel booking agent or company.

The next thing you have to check is whether the website has privacy policy. If the website doesn't have one, then think twice prior to giving your details. Likewise, prior to booking a hotel, it should be confirmed that you have all of the transaction's details in writing. Additionally, it must be made sure that the hotel is going to provide you the room of your specifications and preferences.

Unless specified properly, sometimes you will be compelled to spend your much awaited holidays in the back corner of a top-notch hotel. Further, it must be ensured that the hotel you have chosen is strategically located and within easy reach of almost all attractions and facilities like airport and railway station. Ratings and reviews or feedbacks serve as an important aid to select the most appropriate hotel that goes with your needs and budget. However, it is recommended to read the reviews written by the real users.

Despite anything, booking hotels online is fast, easy, and economical, and unquestionably make your business or vacation trip hassle free.

Okay, so no-one is actually demanding money, but there are other ways of getting 'ransom' all the same. Perhaps intimidation is a better word . . .

Having been trading on eBay for some time now, I've noticed a trend that is growing stronger and stronger as time goes by - specifically, the withholding of feedback by sellers. Now you may think that this is of little consequence - hey, they'll leave feedback sooner or later! - but it is in fact a psychological pressure point they're leaning on - the threat of unwarranted negative feedback.

I've just had a look at the 'Items I've Won' section of my eBay account. There are ten lots on there. All are paid for - in fact all were paid for within hours of completing, some within minutes - and I have yet to receive them. No problem there - but not one, not a single one of those ten sellers has left feedback as to my speedy payment! And let's face it, what else should a seller be leaving feedback about?

I used to get it all at one time - 'fast payment, great ebayer' or 'speedy payer, many thanks' - you know the sort of thing. Now it seems that all sellers sit smugly on the feedback fence, refusing to give feedback before you, the buyer, has given them positive feedback.

Unfortunately, this is a huge flaw in the way eBay works. It still operates on the 'great guys' theory - that is, everyone is a great guy who wouldn't cross you, no-way, no-how. Well that might have been fine in the days when most ebayers sold attic junk or stuff they just wanted rid of - but not now. No, now feedback scores must be protected at all costs - hence the present situation.

How does it work for sellers? Simple. If they get bad feedback from you, they give it in return - as they haven't yet left any, which by all rights they really should have done as soon as they were paid, they are then free to throw negative feedback at you regardless of the fact that they are in the wrong! By leaving feedback 'off the hook' until you, the buyer, give positive feedback they are in a win-win situation - dare to leave negative feedback and you're sure to get it in return!

I'm not talking here of the situations where two people just fall out for some reason - no system is going to be able to guard fully against people just being unable to get on together - I'm talking about people with large feedback figures who are hell-bent on maintaining their score. Whilst this may be understandable for a powerseller not wanting to lose their status, it's still no excuse.

Let's face it - if a seller with a feedback number in the thousands gets a negative hit, it isn't going to change their overall feedback percentage much. However, if they can slam the little guy with a feedback of maybe twenty it looks much worse - it can affect their percentage score out of all proportion to the person with the big feedback score.

This problem also has the effect of making eBay seem a much better place to trade than it actually is - although to be fair it's pretty good. However, by perpetuating this loophole for sellers, eBay is not doing their users in general -and buyers in particular - any favours. Surely it's about time that eBay introduced some system whereby sellers has to leave feedback within, say, twenty-four hours of a sale or none could be left at all - and repeat offenders penalised? With eBay's e-commerce savvy this should be a breeze and it would make things better for all - except of course for the ones holding us, effectively, to ransom.

So - for now, at least - the fact remains that as a buyer you are pretty much at the mercy of this type of intimidating behaviour - at least until eBay decide that enough is enough and it's time to get back to it's original values, even if that means upsetting the odd powerseller or two!

Need more traffic on your website? You may want to consider buying it. When you buy traffic, you are almost guaranteed to get traffic. Many of the services that dedicate their businesses to building traffic for other websites offer a guaranteed number of visitors on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, making this one of these easiest and fastest ways to get traffic on your website.

If you have never heard of buying traffic before, or if you want to learn more about how it works, here are some frequently asked questions in regards to traffic buying that can help.

What Kind of Businesses Buy Traffic?
Buying web traffic is not necessarily a new Internet marketing concept. In fact, there are many online businesses that have been doing it for years. Though many of these companies are established already, they are not the only types of businesses who use such services. Sometimes the only way that a new, unknown site can get traffic to their website is by buying it. Competing with large sites is tough, and sometimes, search engine optimization techniques aren't enough to boost a new site's rankings in the search engines.

Where Can You Get Traffic?
There are many online services that sell website traffic. To find a sampling, simply type buy traffic or get traffic into any Internet search engine. You will be faced with so many different options that you will have a hard time choosing which service to go with.

If you are looking for referrals, consider visiting forums that have members who are online business owners or web developers. Many of the people who post in these forums may have already used one or two traffic building companies. In most cases, they will be able to offer you information on their experiences.

If you are unable to get a referral, don't base your decision on cost alone. There may or may not be a difference between a traffic building service that offers 10,000 visitors per month for $20.00 and one that offers 10,000 for $30.00. Always inquire about services, as well as costs. Good questions to ask include:

How do you bring traffic to my website?
Do you ever use spamming techniques?
What type of traffic will be targeted: specific countries, specific languages, etc?
Can you guarantee that I will get traffic?
Will you provide me with stats?
Do you offer customer support?
How much will you charge me if I want to buy traffic?
Why is your service better than others?

Where Do Visitors Come From?
When you buy traffic, most of the visitors you get will be from banner ads, pop-ups, pop-unders, and layers ads. The ads are placed all around the net. When a web visitor clicks on the ad, they will be taken directly to your website.

Is Traffic Guaranteed?
This is a tough question to answer because it depends on the service that you use to buy traffic. Some services guarantee that you will get traffic and others do not. Even if they do guarantee traffic, they cannot guarantee sales. They cannot even guarantee that when you get traffic, it will stay on your site for more than one second.

This is very important to remember when deciding whether or not to buy traffic. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to track your traffic, your sales, and your overall results. Once you have analyzed everything, you will be able to easily determine if buying traffic to get traffic is in your best interests.

Not all websites are the same. And while all webmasters need to take web design into account, those dealing directly with money and customers have extra considerations to make. After all, for owners of e-commerce (or sales) websites, "conversion" is the number one priority. Conversion refers to turning visitors to a website into paying customers, and the "conversion rate" of an e-commerce site is hugely dependant on how potential customers feel about the site itself.

This brings the question... When designing a website, what is the difference between e-commerce web design and regular web design? Can you design an e-commerce website just like you would an informational web page? The answer is no. Though they are similar in concept and execution, there is quite a lot of difference between e-commerce web design and regular web design-- it's all in the details.

E-Commerce Web Designers

When an Internet user visits an e-commerce site, he/she is often looking to buy. But the truth is, if that potential buyer doesn't feel good about the website, they won't buy-- even if the items for sale there are just what they're looking for.

Since turning browsers into paying customers is the way for an e-commerce site to make money, e-commerce website designers must keep in mind the importance of creating trust and good feeling with potential customers. Before deciding to spend money, most online customers look for security, convenience, and accessibility, and a successful e-commerce site must make all three a priority. Because of this, e-commerce web designers must put a special focus on:

Branding

In order to create trust and a feeling with security with potential clients, it's important that an e-commerce website be well branded. This means that sales websites must put more effort into logos, mottos, designs, etc., than non-commercial websites.

Shopping Carts

The ease and convenience of e-shopping carts, shopping baskets, etc., is an important factor in converting browsers into customers. Because of this, most e-commerce website designers should offer custom shopping cart design for websites. This includes but isn't limited to shopping cart appearance, databases, product display, and email receipts.

Security and Merchant Accounts

The biggest reason why online shopping is such a huge industry is convenience. And what makes shopping online so convenient is the ability to pay online securely with credit cards. Since paying online is one of the last remaining 'sticking points' for reluctant online shoppers, it's important to make them feel safe and secure when ordering from an e-commerce site. Because of this, e-commerce web designers are specialized in creating secure websites, and often help users to apply for and create secure e-commerce merchant accounts for credit cards.

Of course, all of this specialized knowledge requires specialized training, and an e-commerce web designer needs to be trained in this highly specific field. An e-commerce web designer must know both regular web design and the specialized skills in the areas listed above, as well as other e-commerce related areas.

Regular website maintenance is an important aspect of owning an online business. Just like a house, your website needs an annual spring cleaning. Certain website maintenance tasks should be performed throughout the year to keep content relevant. Other tasks can be done once a year.

You may be worried that website maintenance is costly, but there are many budget web design methods that can be employed to get the job done. Here is a list of budget web design tips that will help you perform the regular website maintenance that every site needs.

Budget Web Design Tip 1
Visit Competitor Sites
The contents of your site should project the image that you want to promote. For example, if you have a fun website, you should have lively colors and graphics. If you have a website that is serious in tone, the look should reflect that. When performing any type of website maintenance, you should regularly check competitor sites to see what else is out there. While you're surfing the web, be sure to take notes on what you liked, what you didn't, and why. Use these notes to develop an original site that stands out among the competition.

Budget Web Design Tip 2
Analyze Your Website
To properly perform website maintenance, you need to know what your website needs. To determine this, put yourself in your visitors' shoes. Look around. Do you see anything that's missing or can be approved upon? If so, determine how it can be changed. You may also want to consider having a trusted friend or family member look over your site. Ask them to provide an honest assessment, and then use their opinions to better the site. Specific things you may want to ask them about include the site's look and feel, the ease of navigation, and the site content itself.

Budget Web Design Tip 3
Update Your Content
Refreshing content is the top reason to perform website maintenance. Keeping your news pieces and informational content fresh is important. If your web content is stale, visitors will search elsewhere for the things they need. Studies show that sites that are updated regularly have more returning visitors and higher page views. Search engines will also give you more attention if you regularly update your pages with fresh content.

Budget Web Design Tip 4
Learn New Design Skills
Credible websites look professional. If you don't have the design know-how to perform website maintenance yourself, brush up on your skills. There are many free classes and low priced ebooks online that can teach you everything you need to know to redesign your website. There are also many different tutorials that can take you through the process step by step. If you don't have time to learn as you go, you may also want to consider hiring a reasonable priced professional who can perform website maintenance and get the job done for you.

Budget Web Design Tip 5
Track Your Results
After you have completed the website maintenance and implemented a few changes, you will want to track the results of your efforts. Check the logs on your website to determine whether or not you had an increase in visitors or sales. If there are no changes after several months, you may want to consider stepping up your efforts. Run back through the list of budget web design tips. Was there anything you missed? Was there anything that you could do better? If so, take the time to do it. Remember, profitable websites aren't started overnight. They take hard work, dedication, and continuing efforts to succeed.

------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

The wholesale distributor is so vital to manufacturers and retailers that they simply could not exist nor survive without them. So, what are they, how do they work and how do we tell if they are legitimate or not?

Many do not know exactly what the wholesale distributor is, what makes them so important, to the whole process of creating and selling a product to the customer. The answer to this question is very simple, and understanding the answer will provide you a chunk of knowledge that will aid you in the search for your first or next wholesale distributor.

The wholesale distributor buys from the manufacturer at the lowest price available to them through negotiation and long-time exchange. One example of this would be an electronic mp3 player. The manufacturer produces the mp3 player in mass quantity. They focus mostly on creating the best mp3 player on the market. They spotlight making it better, faster, have more storage, have better audio and many other details.

After the item is produced, the wholesale distributor comes in and negotiates the price. This is so important to the entire process as this is how the product reaches the public consumer. This gives the wholesale distributor some bargaining ability to get a very good price. The manufacturer acknowledges that they could not make it without the wholesaler.

Once the deal is made, the wholesale distributor takes their large purchase and integrates it into their massive inventory consisting of many other related products. This expands their line of goods to make them more attractive to the retailers.

The wholesale distributor then begins promoting this new electronic mp3 player by contacting their retailers and offering them deals, specials or whatever it takes to get the new product onto the retail market. They sell these new items to the retailers for an increased price to allow the wholesale distributor to make a profit. However, they attempt to keep the price low enough to be competitive and to enable the retailer to purchase the product at a fair enough price to allow them to be profitable as well.

Most of you reading this are not wholesale distributors; you are most likely to be retailers looking for product sources. This is where you come into the process. You will contact the wholesale distributor to obtain a wholesale price list. There are many ways to go about this, but remember, the majority of wholesale distributors will want to verify that you are a legit business before the reveal their inventory and their wholesale pricing.

To verify that you are a legit business to the wholesale distributor, you will most likely need a business license from the state that you operate within and an EIN number given to you by the IRS. These two items make you a solid and trustworthy business. This is a positive thing when the distributor verifies this information. If they will sell to those that are not legitimate businesses, they are not legitimate wholesale distributors. They would simply be middle-men placing themselves between you and the true wholesale distributor.

To clarify a bit more about the exact definition of a wholesale distributor, remember that according to U.S. Industry and Trade Outlook, published by The McGraw-Hill Companies and the U.S. Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration, wholesale trade includes establishments that sell products to retailers, merchants, contractors and/or industrial, institutional and commercial users. Wholesale distributors do not sell to consumers. If you observe that you have a potential wholesaler that does sell to the consumer, drop them like a bad habit.

Why would I advise you to run from the above scenario in which the wholesale distributor is selling to the public? Well, how can you compete? In all actuality, you will be purchasing products at a discount and not wholesale. It would be like shopping at a sale at your local retail store. You are not getting the best price and therefore are not going to make the profit necessary to maintain a solid business.

A true wholesale distributor could possibly offer their products to the consumer. This does happen at times. Ensure that you examine this practice closely. About the only situation that I may do business with a wholesaler that retails is when they offer their products to the public at bulk buy rates. I would ensure that they would still offer my retail company a significant better deal than the consumer is getting. Otherwise, the profit is not there.

There you have a good understanding of the wholesale distributor. You know what the function is and how they fit into the commerce process. You now know to do a bit of research into things such as the pricing of the wholesale goods, whether they sell to the public and whether they verify your company as a legit business.

Do you dream that one day you will not have to get up early in the morning and fight your way through the morning commute to get to work? Are you sick and tired of fighting the traffic and wasting precious hours of your life driving to and from work? Then you should start looking into other ways of earning an income without having to deal with the daily rush hour.

If you don't want to fight traffic or waste valuable time every day that you could be spending with your family, you really need to consider a home based business or internet income as an excellent alternative. The good thing about a home based business or internet income is that you can simply stay at home, work in your pajamas, and do it all on your own terms.

When you work at home, you get to make your own rules and set your own work schedule. Working at home will give you complete control over your work time. You can go to work early in the morning or late at night, it doesn't matter. No one will ever dock your pay or mark you tardy if you don't get to a specific place or start at a certain time.

The only person you will need to answer to, when having a home based business or internet income, is yourself. However you do need to understand that if you are not self-motivated and don't possess good work ethics, you may not earn enough income to pay your bills and keep yourself living a comfortable lifestyle.

On the other hand, if you do have a fair amount of self-discipline and you don't mind working extra hours and putting in extra efforts on what you choose to do, then you could really earn a great deal of money through an online business.

Setting your own work schedules and rules

One of the many things to take into consideration when you have a home based business or internet income is to set up your work schedules and rules. You should always keep in mind that you will need to follow some set of rules to achieve maximum productivity.

Nobody's going to be there to call your attention. If you don't devote enough time and get all of your work done, you will soon find out that you may not have enough money to pay all of your bills. You will need to work diligently on your online business to insure that the work will get done when it needs to be done.

When you set up your own work schedules and rules, you need to make sure you are committed to following them faithfully. It will not do you any good, if you just set up a work schedule and rules, then simply push them to the side. If you make schedules and rules, make sure you follow everything in order that you have set. If you need to be hard on yourself, do so. Keep in mind that the rewards will probably be worth it in the long run.

To help encourage yourself to follow your own work schedules and rules, you should set a target income goal for the month. Setting a target income goal for the month will help encourage you to dedicate more time and effort to your online business, especially if you see that you're falling behind on you're income goals. On the other hand, if you have a targeted income goal for the month and you reach that goal, you can reward yourself with a day off, if you are going to meet those goals well ahead of time.

Internet marketing for your online business can be confusing, especially if you are not familiar with all of the different aspects of website marketing. This is why it can sometimes be hard to determine exactly which marketing method to use.

Many business owners are afraid to choose a marketing strategy because they fear it will not pay off. Others don't care and are willing to try virtually anything. No matter which category you fall into, you will have to eventually make a choice. Every online business needs to advertise in some way if they want to compete. At some point, you will have to take a chance. It is only after you have developed and implemented a website marketing strategy that you will truly be able to determine whether or not it was a success.

Though there are many different website marketing techniques, there is really only one way to judge the success of your online campaign. Follow-up. If you never follow-up on your marketing decisions, it will be impossible for you to determine whether or not you should continue with a specific website marketing strategy.

See, a website marketing campaign is just like any other marketing campaign. Once it is over, the results need to be analyzed and measured. Follow-up is especially important when it comes to Internet marketing for online business, because there are so many methods of advertising. By tracking your results, you can determine which methods of website marketing were effective and which methods were not. You can then adjust your methods accordingly.

If you have never tracked your website traffic or the results of a website marketing campaign, it may be hard to determine where to start. However, you shouldn't become frustrated and give up too soon. Results tracking is very important if you want to make sure you're not throwing your advertising money out the window.

The easiest way to track your site visitors is by viewing your website's logs. These logs are a record of your site visitors and can help you determine where the traffic on your website came from. By viewing these logs, you will know whether or not the visitors were a direct result of the website marketing campaign.

Just about every web hosting company provides this service to their customers. If your web host does not allow you access to these logs or if they will not send you weblog reports, you may want to consider switching web hosts.

If switching hosts is not a viable option, you can also purchase one of many software programs that are specifically designed to help you track and analyze your website marketing efforts.

Results tracking is an essential part of Internet marketing for online business. Without it, you will have a very hard time figuring out exactly how effective your website marketing campaign is. You would never know how a website visitor found your site and you would never know which advertising strategies were failures.

Effective Internet marketing for online business brings traffic to your website and then converts that traffic into paying customers. When you can accomplish this conversion on a regular basis, you will know that your website marketing strategy is truly a success.

Comprehensive Internet marketing for online business is more than just launching a campaign. You must also take an active role in market research, strategy development, campaign design, risk management, and quality control. Then, by carefully monitoring and measuring the results of your website marketing efforts, you can ensure that all of your hard work is not in vain.

Affiliate marketing is a term used to describe an advertising agreement between a website owner, a.k.a. an affiliate, and a merchant. A strategic affiliate marketing agreement can be a very profitable online venture for both parties. The affiliate earns a commission for generating leads, clicks, and/or sales for the merchants website, and the merchant enjoys a healthy profit without having to do a great deal of work.

As you can imagine, strategic affiliate marketing is a win-win situation. Merchants get to advertise their products for free in different markets, which inevitably increases sales. The more affiliates merchants have, the better their chances of making money. This is because they can cover a larger piece of the market and do not have to rely on their website alone. Instead, they can use the websites that belong to everyone who is part of their strategic affiliate marketing program.

Affiliates also benefit because they can begin a business for free. Most affiliate marketing programs cost nothing to join, but for each purchase that is made, the affiliate makes a commission. In some cases, the commission is a flat rate, and in others, it is a percentage of the sale. The best part is that no previous experience is required. Almost anyone can be an affiliate marketer.

To become an affiliate, you must have a website that can be used to display links to merchant websites. Though the website can be simple, it should look professional. The better your website looks, the more comfortable people will feel when clicking links and taking your recommendations to purchase products from a merchant's website.

You can create almost any type of website you want. However, your web content should have something to do with the merchant's site for strategic affiliate marketing to work well. For example, you wouldn't want to advertise resume writing services on a website devoted to pet care. It simply wouldn't make sense.

If you are an affiliate marketing newbie interested in entering the business of strategic affiliate marketing, here are three simple steps to help get you started.

Step One
The first step in developing a strategic affiliate marketing campaign is to find a niche. Niche markets provide a product or service for a specific group of customers who have very specific needs. Niches are preferable to big markets because there is less competition. Your best bet will be to find a niche subject that you are interested in or passionate about. Having a fair bit of knowledge on the subject won't hurt either.

Step Two
The second step to getting started in affiliate marketing, and possibly the most important one, involves finding merchants whose products you would like to promote. You will want to find high-paying merchants and high converting products.

Before making a final decision, you will also want to consider the merchant's stance on strategic affiliate marketing. For example, do they offer affiliate support? What about marketing materials? The more support offered, the better. Support often translates into easy sales. Keep in mind, you will also want to find affiliate marketing programs that relate to your site in some way, shape, or form.

Step Three
The final step to developing a strategic affiliate marketing campaign is promotion. For some, this is the hardest part. However, if done correctly, it is possible to earn large sums of money in the affiliate marketing business.

To learn the best ways to promote your website, you must do your research and be willing to take chances on one or two marketing methods. Read everything you can on strategic affiliate marketing, advertising techniques, and website promotion. Knowledge is the key to unlocking your success as an affiliate marketer.

If you want to start your Home-based Internet Business for very little money, you need Wholesale Suppliers who Drop Ship.

Why? Because working with drop shippers eliminates the need for you to carry expensive inventories. You don't have to rent a warehouse, hire employees, establish accounts with UPS and FedEx, etc. You can sell the best brand names on earth from your home computer, and make good money at it.

Wholesale Suppliers who drop ship send the products you sell directly from their warehouse to your customer, with your business name on it. All you do it take the order from your customer and pass it to the distributor. You keep the difference between the wholesale price the distributor charges you, and the retail price you sell to your customer for.

Of course, there are a lot of places out there that want you to THINK they are wholesale drop shippers. They'll set up accounts with, say, 10 real drop ship suppliers. Then they'll call themselves something like "Drop Ship Paradise", and claim that THEY are the wholesale drop ship supplier. Then it'll go like this:

1. "Drop Ship Paradise" will place advertising all over the Internet proclaiming to be the greatest source that ever existed for all kinds of great products, and they'll drop ship all those products to your customer.

2. You'll get all excited because YOU can actually place everything from Sony electronics to Coleman Camping gear on your web site and sell it.

3. "Drop Ship Paradise" will charge you an account setup fee, to cover their "processing". (Note: REAL Wholesale Suppliers almost NEVER charge you an account setup fee).

4. "Drop Ship Paradise" will send you a nice, shiny list of products and show you where to get the product images and descriptions to place on your web site.

5. You'll get all excited, and put all this great stuff on your site, set your prices so that you can make a profit over what "Drop Ship Paradise" charges.

6. You'll launch your site, and you hardly sell a thing.

Huh? What happened? Nobody's buying! You can't survive on just a few orders a month!

Disappointed and discouraged, you start to go out and check other web sites that carry the same products. Maybe they have better images. Maybe they have cooler descriptions. Maybe their pages look nicer. You find that it's none of those things. So what DO you find?

The other sites? PRICES are lower. A LOT lower.

You just got nailed by one of the most popular scams on the Internet.

"Drop Ship Paradise" took you for a couple of hundred dollars in exchange for a CD full of product images. They may have even locked you into a contract where you have to pay them every month to be a "member" of their "distributorship".

Oh, "Drop Ship Paradise" DOES ship the products they claim to. Of course they do. It's just that when they get an order from you, they turn around and place your order with the REAL Wholesale Supplier, and take a profit. By the time YOUR price is calculated, you're paying not only wholesale, you're paying "Drop Ship Paradise", extra markup of anywhere from 10% to 30%.

In order for YOU to make a profit, you naturally have to mark up the prices you get from "Drop Ship Paradise". By the time you do that, you can't compete on the 'Net. Your prices are just too high.

At this point, you can do one of two things:

1. You can lower your prices to the point where you're making mere pennies on your products in order to compete.

2. You can bypass these jokers and go to the REAL sources.

The real sources can be hard to find. They don't market themselves as Internet Wholesale Supplier. They are established wholesale companies who have been supplying big chains like Sears and K-mart for a very long time.

Many of them are now realizing that a good part of their future lies in Internet sales, and they are establishing drop ship and light bulk wholesale programs. There are even a few big name manufacturers who are beginning to supply Home-based Internet Businesses right from their factories. That's where YOU need to be. In direct contact with the actual Wholesale Supplier or factory source.

When you're looking for a drop shipper, here are a couple of things to be careful of:

1. Any company that tells you that they'll set up your entire web site AND PROVIDE THE PRODUCTS FOR YOU will NOT make you rich. They'll make THEMSELVES rich on your setup and hosting fees, and you'll piddle along with thousands of other small sites all selling exactly the same things at the same prices.

(NOTE: Don't confuse this with companies who just offer to set up your E-Commerce web site. There are a lot of great places out there that will build and host sites for you. It's when they tell you that you HAVE to sell the products that THEY provide that you should run for cover.)

2. Any distributor who wants you to pay a "membership" or "setup" fee is probably not a true Wholesale Supplier.

3. If it sounds too good to be true, it's too good to be true.

Don't get scammed, use the only true REAL drop shipper index in the 'Net:

What is it that you are looking for to sell? Do you want to sell an item online that is specific? Or, do you even care; as long as you can get going online selling something, anything?

I know how you feel. I have been there. I have had successes and failures and have learned much from these endeavors.

How and Where Do I Find Wholesale Merchandise?

This is the biggest question asked of all of those desiring to kick off an ecommerce web-store selling something that either interests them or seems to be a hit on the Internet. Your hunt for that wholesale merchandise is the test because there are so many scammers and unfavorable middle-men out there that are willing to squeeze every red cent out of the unknowing entrepreneur.

My first suggestion to you is to explore the Google and Yahoo search engines thoroughly. You may discover quite a few suppliers. Always email them, or call them. You should verify that they are legit and are receptive. Imagine becoming involved with a supplier of wholesale merchandise and not being able to communicate with them, and I can promise you from experience, you will need to be able to swiftly contact your supplier often.

You should think of being involved with a wholesale merchandise supplier as a relationship. This is something that you will cultivate over time. Your sales representative for the company you do business with will be someone that you should be able to communicate easily with. There should be no problems in contacting them. This is very important when finding your supplier.

There is nothing more difficult than finding a legit wholesale merchandise drop-shipper or wholesaler online through simple search engine exploration. My advice to you is to go through a service that supplies a list of wholesalers. Again, you should find one that is reputable. You can verify how reputable a company is by checking the Better Business Bureau website, or by simply calling them and asking a few questions.

Legitimate businesses should always have phone numbers and representatives to answer them or contact you back in a reasonable amount of time. Your questions should be answered and not ignored or talked around. Be persistent, this is your future we are discussing. Understand, they are the employee and should be trying to earn your business and not the other way around.

What Sort of Wholesale Merchandise Should I Sell?

This is a personal question more than anything. To give you an answer, let me tell you a bit about my own beginnings and how I made that decision. I will not tell you that my first business was my best decision, but I made it work, with a huge amount of work. Ecommerce is not a kick back and relax and let your computer do everything type of business. It is hard work that requires desire, persistence and a devoted work ethic.

When you look to find the desired product to sell, there are many things you must weigh before diving in. I could not begin to list everything in a single article. This is something that you must research deeply. Finding the right wholesale merchandise is the most important task involved in online sales. Do not take it lightly.

My Experience

I started a knife shopping website a few years ago. I chose pocket knives as my wholesale merchandise because of my personal interest. There are many pros and cons to my choice and my lack of research made promoting and continuing my business very difficult and extremely challenging.

Being that I enjoy collecting pocket knives, it is easy for me to build my business and grow my reputation as an expert because I have quite a bit of knowledge about pocket knives. I enjoy researching, collecting and writing about knives; so those tasks are enjoyable. This is a major pro when choosing your product line.

However, to be honest, selling pocket knives online is very demanding. I never considered such things as like how collectors like to handle the blade and weight of the knife in their hand. They like to look the knife over for defects and such. This is obviously impossible to do online and can put a stall on sales if the buyer does not know the product that well.

I will not tell you that my choice of wholesale merchandise was a mistake as my business is flourishing, but I have to be honest and say that the competition is ferocious and keeping this business on top is quite the challenge. There are many pocket knife vendors online and many of them are quite savvy online business people. That makes the fight to stay on top and ranked well very challenging. Consider this when choosing your wholesale merchandise.

My Advice

Select wholesale merchandise that you take pleasure in and that you have researched. Examine the competition. Take a good look at their websites. Check out how they rank in the search engines. Email them and ask questions about their products. Subscribe to their newsletter or mailing list. Learn and then learn some more before diving in.

With all of the above in mind, you should do well in choosing your wholesale merchandise. Take your time and enjoy it, that is key to success.

If you want to increase your website's rankings in the search engines, you will need to use inbound links, also known as backlinks, to create link popularity. To do this, you can use link building directory submission services or promote link building by submitting to article directories manually.

While there are pros and cons to each method of creating inbound links, you will find that using link building directory submission services is very different than promoting link building by submitting to article directories.

Whichever way you decide to do it, the necessity of creating inbound links cannot be ignored. Link popularity is crucial for search engine rankings. Search engine bots automatically assume that the more backlinks there are pointing to a particular website, the more popular and valuable the website is. While this idea works in theory, it allows for the system to be easily manipulated by savvy web developers who build their own link popularity using directory submission services or by taking the more hands on route of by submitting to article directories manually.

Pros and Cons of Using Link Building Directory Submission Services
Directories to build links are categorized lists of links from various places around the web. There are many different directories out there and they all offer different services at different prices.

There are several pros and cons to using these services to create backlinks.

Pros
Link building directory submission services are easy to find. They are everywhere on the web.

Most submission services are free or no cost.

These services usually offer quality, traffic-building inbound links.

Smaller submission services may not be very beneficial.

Cons
Link building directory submission services have very different processes.

Larger services sometimes charge significant fees and may be hard to get access to.

Free listings can take anywhere from a week to a month to get added to a directory, and may never be added at all.

Pros and Cons of Promoting Link Building by Submitting to Article Directories Manually
Submitting to article directories is another easy way to build links. Article directories contain informational articles for Internet readers. These directories can be a powerful method of getting quality inbound links.

If you decide to use this method, you will want to submit articles to as many different article directories as possible. In general, it is better to submit a different article to each directory, but if you have a really good piece, you can spread the same article to multiple sites.

Here are the pros and cons of building links by submitting to article directories.

Pros
Most Internet marketers consider promoting link building by submitting to article directories one of the best Internet marketing strategies around.

Search engines love backlinks from content rich pages, such as article pages. Most article directories are free to submit to.

There are article submission services and software programs that can make the submissions for you.

Cons
Link building by submitting to article directories can be time consuming if you write your own articles and make submissions manually.

Software programs can be inaccurate and aren't good at following article directory guidelines (for example, software programs can't choose appropriate categories, etc.).

Whether you decide to promote link building by submitting to article directories or by using link building directory submission services, there is no denying the importance of inbound links. If you want your site to be a success in the search engines, give one of these methods a try. You won't be disappointed.

There is no hiding the fact that having a work at home business has its perks over a 9 to 5 job. Because of this, the internet has blossomed with thousands of businesses and websites opening every year. Although the benefits of having an online business began quietly, no longer is it a secret that the sky is the limit online.

Working at home gives you an endless amount of freedom that you more than likely never had at your old job. You can opt to start a business or join whatever business you feel like online. And because the internet continues to evolve every day, there is a plethora of options to choose from.

If you do decide to start your own business, you are the boss. No longer do you have to take orders from anyone or deal with weekly or monthly meetings. You can choose to go whichever way you want with your business. It can be scary having all of the power in your hands, but you finally can do what you want with the business.

When you have a work at home business, you create your own schedule. This is where it can become a problem for some people because they prioritize everything else but their work. As long as you know what it is going to take to be successful with your business, there really is no set schedule. If you are on vacation and want to stay an extra few days, there is nothing stopping you. If you want to cut work a little short so you can see your kid's basketball game, go right ahead.

Certainly the point of this article is to discuss the numerous perks you will get from having a work at home business. But this is not to say that you won't face any kinds of adversity. Remember, when you have your own business you have to take on a number of roles. This can be stressful, but it can also be a benefit you won't find at any other job.

At many businesses, you have one set duty that can become monotonous over time. With an online business you may market your website one day and write the content the next. More than likely you will be doing several different tasks in one day, which keeps the job exciting every day.

When you begin a work at home job, it is vital that you remember it is still a job. There are still duties to be done and at times even more work to be done than your old job. But at the end of the day you have to consider your situation and be thankful that you have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your very own home with an online business.

You've probably heard about e-books-they're everywhere on the Internet, and it seems like everyone is writing them. You've probably even thought about writing one yourself. But, what to write about? You need some e-book ideas.

First, e-books are electronic books that are downloaded and saved onto your computer. Some e-books must be purchased, and some are even free. You can read them directly from your computer, or print them out to read at any time.

The intriguing thing about e-books is that you can cut out most all of the middle men (agents, publishers, wholesalers) and take care of all the work yourself (writing, editing, formatting, copywriting, and selling). E-books are a great idea for those of you who want to be more independent in your success. Plus, by using e-books, your success can come much quicker than with a traditional print book.

Now that that's cleared up, let's start thinking about some e-book ideas. You may already know what you want to write about-great! But make sure it's a topic that people are going to be interested in reading. Otherwise, don't expect big sales. Whether you know what you want to write about or you simply know you want to write, when thinking about good, profitable e-book ideas, check to see if your topic is one that is in demand.

One of the great benefits of writing an e-book is that you can use it to market several of your affiliate products, by simply placing your affiliate urls in the book itself as recommended links to visit to get more resources. Also, if you are planning on writing an e-book as a bonus giveaway then you can allow your affiliates to brand your e-book, that is your affiliates can also place their affiliate urls in the e-book and benefit by promoting the giveaway e-book.

When thinking about e-book ideas, remember to also consider your knowledge of the topics. The phrase "write what you know" applies to e-book ideas just as it applies to all writing. Write about something you know a good deal about and about something that people want to know a good deal about. See the connection?

Your primary focus for writing the e-book must be to add value to the people that will eventually read it. It is a way to develop trust with your customers
and if you provide quality information, you are more than likely to get repeat sales for further e-books that you write or even products that you endorse simply because you have broken the trust barrier.

Also, do a little research as to how much information
already exists on your topic. If you know a good deal about both the circus and underwater basket weaving, and find that there is a demand for information on both topics, look around to see which topic already has the most information out there. If there are 100 e-books already in circulation about the circus, but only 8 about underwater basket weaving, consider underwater basket weaving as one of
your e-book ideas. There is both an interest and a demand.

Many new businesses start up thinking that they can make their fortune by selling on the Internet, they are spurred on by reports of Internet entrepreneurs earning huge bucks selling online.

Of course there will always be successes where the net is concerned and it offers a great potential for new businesses to get established and make money. The problem is that you do not sell products and services without visitors and visitors can be massively expensive to generate.

The big Internet boom and bust shows quite clearly that any new business, no matter how well funded, cannot simply exist on bought traffic whether that is from paid search or affiliate marketing or general marketing. High profile disasters were driven by huge advertising spends and a belief that this will drive enough visitors to get a website established.

Of course there are many good drivers of traffic but without exception every one of the boom and bust internet businesses both then and now either overlook natural search traffic or simply have a facility built that is not capable of getting natural search profile.

This latter factor is normally due to poor website design and really poor e-commerce solutions, the off the shelf solutions are the worst culprits whilst the bespoke solutions are failing through ignorance of the developers.

Now in plain English the rule is as follows: Any business hoping to sell on the Internet will at best perform way below its potential or at worst, fail completely, if they do not get the right platform from which to sell their products and services from the outset.

Investing tens of thousands of hard earned pounds on a system that cannot deliver search positions is foolish at best. Of course the main issue here is the bandwagon, so many developers and packaged shop solutions are branded as being SEO friendly that the budding entrepreneur is duped from the outset. The reality is that most are far from capable from a search engine friendly perspective including almost all of the leading brands.

They developers think that being able to slap in a few meta tags and a few heading 1 tags makes a platform SEO friendly, in truth that's like saying a pair of fluffy dice and a good stereo will make your car go fast!

The reality is that many a website is doomed before it is published, these poor entrepreneurs never had a chance and at best will have to rely on channels such as paid search, price comparison and eBay. Some will survive but continue to frustrate and underachieve, their marketing budgets will be blown on expensive advertising and unethical SEO practice as unscrupulous agencies happily rip them all off with great promises that are hungrily devoured by the entrepreneurial lambs.

Who is really to blame for all this?

Well lets start with the business advisers, many of them are government led initiatives with jobs for the boys mentality, for example I once had an adviser from Business Link come to offer advice in relation to our Internet business. Now bearing in mind it was only a couple of years ago I was shocked to learn that he didn't use email, he didn't know much about Google and he was not online at home.

I crucified him with net based questions and he left with his tail between his legs ready to advise the next business on his list on behalf of the government. Most banks are no different and bank advisers just do not get it either.

Next on the list are the developers and manufacturers peddling solutions that do not work in search engines, in one or two cases they can offer more functionality for search but you need to be a hard core coder to take it to that level, most entrepreneurs are not hard core coders.

Next are the backstreet SEO merchants, they are circling like vultures, email marketing their black promises of page 1 utopia, this is about 90% of the industry as far as I can see. Again adding a few meta tags and headings and promising the earth. A good session of manipulation and link spamming is usually on the menu but of course most of it can never work in a medium and long term basis and obscure search terms that generate little traffic is the order of the day.

Lastly are the people themselves, too many of them are not up to speed with this aspect of business, they are happy to learn business principles, accounting, banking and go to great lengths choosing names and logos, how many of them spend a few months in SEO forums, how many go to night school to learn the basics of html or CSS and Photoshop or Dreamweaver.

Which then brings us full circle back to the advisers whose first bit of advice would be to highlight these important aspects, but then of course most of them do not use the reputable expertise themselves so how could they preach about it in the first place.

For any business on the Internet natural search profile is a must and without it product led shops will face Internet oblivion!

Anyone interested in making money online should carefully consider the steps necessary to choosing an appropriate product to promote. Starting a business on the Internet is not difficult compared to the traditional brick and mortar business model, but selecting the right product is one of the fundamental keys to becoming successful.

It cannot be stressed enough that one of the first steps in making money online is choosing the right product to market. Without the right product, your online business is already starting at a disadvantage. Therefore, in order to start making money online, it is recommended that you select a product that is not already saturated in the market.

So there is some research involved on your part. It is easy to determine which products have already reached their saturation level, as ads for these products will be shown on almost every website. Since many other people are selling them, this product will reduce your chances of making money online.

However, it is a better idea to not only find a product that appeals to large number of people, but also a product in which only a small amount of people are advertising. This will be a better guarantee for making money online.

One way to find products that are just being released is by signing up for as many of the credible newsletters being offered in your niche as possible. While it may be a hassle to receive all this information from these newsletters, you will find that many of them are run by top marketers that are on the verge of releasing a brand new product, and are more than happy to have you promote it for them as an affiliate even before the product is officially launched.

If you are at a loss in deciding on a product that can lead to making money online, consider your hobbies or interests. Many online bookstores that are making money online were started with the owners having a passion for reading. If none are your interests can be turned into a profit-making product that can be designed, it is a good idea to consider making money online by selling the product of someone else.

The popularity of affiliate programs has exploded on the Internet as a legitimate way of making money online. There are numerous reasons to consider joining an affiliate program, because it reduces the hassle of having to design your own product to be sold. Many affiliate programs provide their affiliates with resources such as banners to help affiliates market their products. In the end, this can lead to an increase in the number of people making money online.

When selecting an affiliate program, ensure that you are being paid appropriately for the product you are promoting. Generally, information products pay the highest percentage, usually between forty to sixty percent of the sale price. Many great information products can be found at Clickbank, which specializes in providing digital information products.

Another great type of affiliate program is the pay per lead model of affiliate marketing. This type of program is generally offered by many credit card and mortgage companies where you get paid, usually around five to ten dollars, just for referring a valid lead that fills out a form on their website. Clearly, it is much easier to get someone to fill out a form than to have them pay upfront for a product so promoting this type of program can be very profitable.

So the bottom line is that you must find a product that inspires you while at the same time will provide solid profits to meet your financial goals in your online business.

Let's face it, if you are not excited about the product and if you do not believe that your product can truly help other people and that it adds value to their life, then your promotion campaign will be hampered due to your lack of enthusiasm. Also, you simply will not enjoy your online business as much as you deserve to. So take the time to shop around for the appropriate product to promote and you will have a solid foundation onto which you can build a thriving internet business.

The dot.com boom of the 1980s permitted legions of people to cash in on the mushrooming availability and popularity of the Internet but when the bubble burst, there were those who did not cash in but instead ended up owing the bank a small fortune. Those who profited were also those who were able to find a way of starting an ecommerce business without a bank loan. Granted, some might have dipped into their credit cards or homes equity, which is only marginally better but by and large they only invested that which they knew they could afford to lose.

At this point in time potential web entrepreneurs are a lot more hesitant to march to the bank and ask for a loan to fund their ecommerce business. They have learned from the mistakes of others and perhaps they are already so strapped in their personal finances that they know adding another monthly payment will send them over the abyss. Those who are able to not take out the loans in order to invest them in a shiny new ecommerce opportunity will also be those who will live to try another day. The others who may or may not succeed will require years some even decades to financially recover from a failure.

It is important to understand that you do not need to start an ecommerce business with a bank loan. Instead, there are alternative ways of funding your entrepreneurship and those methods might in the long run be safer. For example, you will need a great computer and the latest software to make your presence known on the Net. While it is tempting to buy the latest and greatest machine, find out if you can simply upgrade that which you already have.

Usually you will be able to do so for a fraction of the price that a new system costs. If a new computer system is indicated, wait until special sales events come up and take advantage of them. Refurbished units and used machines which are for sale on many of the major auction sites are also a good idea. Similarly, do not worry about having an office to start out. You spare bedroom will work just fine until the money begins to roll in. It is important that you do not spend money on items which will do little to further your business.

Thus, if you are making and selling e-books, an office is unnecessary. Advertising, packaging and other incidentals can all be tackled at a shoe string budget until your business grows to such an extent that you can get a bit fancier. While it is tempting to ask for money from the bank, remember that you will need to repay this money no matter what. Starting an ecommerce business without a bank loan makes more sense in the long run, since you will be able to finance the next phase of your business with the monies you earn from the current phase.

There are more than 5 billion web pages with millions of businesses trying to do business online. But only a few have succeeded while the rest are mere billboards on the internet superhighway.

These few have succeeded in overcoming the value hurdles by constant innovation.

Constant and never ending innovation is the key to creating value in business more so when your business is totally web based and online. Why is it more important in online business than traditional brick and mortar businesses?

Let us look at a few key components of value creation in traditional vs. online business

Human Presence in Enhancing Value

Traditional business has one major advantage. It is the ability to communicate one to one and personally with the customer. While communicating directly with the customer by a sales person, the owner or the resource person, the personality of the person is added to the overall value of the goods or services.

A smile, witty presentation, on the spot analysis of the need and matching the product benefits to the need of the customer, a feel for the product and services enhances the value of the product for the customer.

Online business has very little scope to add value by physical presence either of the product or the person promoting it. To make up for the personal charisma and interaction, online business content has to be highly conversational, witty with personalized writing styles or audio/video to get the same effect and results.

Technology as Value

Traditional business is able to get the attention of the customer by projecting a vision of the technology and its possibilities through personal contact. Even a moderate technical improvement is made more visible to visiting customers

Online business is heavily dependent on technology. But technology has the disadvantage of becoming a commodity as everyone catches up and the differentiation vanishes. Enhancing value through technology requires constant innovation to stay ahead of the pack. Technology as a commodity may be overcome only though a human face. You may have the ability through autoresponders to send thousands of emails in an instant but few online businesses can write an intelligent, witty, one to one personalized communication to effectively leverage the autoresponder..

Knowledge as value

While internet is a huge repository of knowledge and could act as the major tool for value enhancement, the volume of information or knowledge available can also become its major disadvantage. Everyone online knows that there is a huge amount of knowledge that one has to assimilate quickly. The person therefore scans the information online mechanically and quickly, not comprehending fully the information he is scanning on the monitor screen.

Another disadvantage is knowledge cannot be applied selectively to the online customer. All knowledge can be made available online but it is the discretion of the customer to recognize, choose and use it for value enhancement. Therefore it is a highly perishable commodity online achieving very fast obsolescence.

Offline business has the advantage of communicating knowledge and information in a form that is relevant. The availability and access to knowledge, though limited, is used selectively and tailored to customer requirement.

Change and innovation as value

Change and innovation are better perceived offline in real life situations than online. Any innovation or change takes time and effort on the part of the online businesses to reach to the customer in spite of technology as customers may choose not visit the web pages or emails may be filtered out.

A change from a staircase to an escalator, automatic doors, a facelift to a building or storefront, a better billing system are all far more appreciated than online innovations.

An online business has to constantly innovate in terms of sticky online content to keep the customers coming back. The web content has to be designed and written very intelligently to achieve the same impact as a simple handshake in offline business.

Is it the reason why more online businesses fail?

Over half of all US online adults use search engines most or every time they are online, according to a recent "How America Searches" study from icrossing. "How America Searches" takes a detailed look at why people turn to search engines, which engines have the most loyal users, how well people can distinguish natural and paid results, and other questions.

This kind of information can be incredibly helpful to your business. For example, the vast majority of search engine users (88%) say they use search engines to research specific topics and shopping is the activity of choice for over half (51%).

So what happens if one of those surfers lands on your website from the search engines and they're doing research for a product or service they'd like to buy? Are they gone in an instant never to return again? That could kill your business.

Maybe not if you have a clever way to capture just who those visitors are. And that is very easy to do. You have only a few seconds to grab the contact details of this visitor. You can accomplish that objective by offering a free report download or newsletter sign up that compels them to give you their contact information in exchange for your valuable freebie.

Once you have those details captured, you have many opportunities to connect with that prospect over and over again.

Many webmasters are interested in getting more traffic to their web site, especially the new web site. Without a doubt many of the new webmasters will have a try on the free traffic exchange program all over the internet. So the question is, does it work?

What's good about Free traffic exchange?

First, You got traffic and a lot of traffic without paying a dime. Some of your traffic will actually click on your ad or buy products from your site. Most importantly, it is free! (the best weapon on internet marketing Ever)

What's bad about so-called FREE traffic exchange?

They are not targeted traffic and you will have to either "work for credit" (e.g. watch their ads, click the banner) or "pay for credit" (usually more expensive than you actually buying the targeted traffic. Also, people are reading your site just to get "credits" and are not necessarily interested in your products.

Almost everybody who need to promote their website(s) have joined such services one time or the other. It's the lure of fast traffic that drives webmasters into signing up such services. But unfortunately, the quality of traffic you get from these services is inferior because it's just members who visit other's web site to get credits. If you have a web site to sell something, traffic exchange program may not be a good way to get targeted customers and boost your revenue.

However, if your product is targeting to a group of webmasters or people who sit in front of the computer all the days, traffic exchange program may be a good way for you to get targeted customers.

As I have mentioned before, you actually get "traffic" from those program and it is only a matter of fact on "HOW" you attract your customers to spend 1 minute to read your products or your web site. The beauty of traffic exchange program is that, over 90% of the people in this program are either webmasters or marketers. If you have products or service targeting this group of people, traffic exchange program will no doubt be your number 1 choice.

How to use it wisely?

As I have mentioned before, using "free traffic" to sell affiliate program and webmaster tool, such as seo tools and other online marketing program, would be a wise way. But what really bring you real cash is the "reputation" you build up among other webmasters when you use those "webmaster-targeted" program.

How do you build up your reputation?
1) Provide free content for them
2) Develop downstream using those "free tool"

Then once you have built up your reputation, chances are other webmasters who use this free tool will follow your recommendation and you will be able to make tons of cash from those webmasters (your customers).

Good program such as instantbuzz, trafficswarm and trafficg is a good way to get started if you are new to this "free" traffic exchange stuff.

There are so many ways that for you to start your own home business and reap the benefits that come with it. In this article I will discuss generating some extra income by starting your own home business using online auction sites.

Did you know that there are tons of other places on the internet besides EBay where you can sell items of your choice? There are Yahoo, MSN, uBid, and Overstock auctions plus multiple online antique auction sites, in addition to another site that gets a great deal of traffic and potential buyers-Amazon. The greatest thing about all of these places is that they require very little or no experience at all to get started, very little money and hardly any time. Additionally, and probably most important to making sales is that these sites usually already have a ton of built-in, targeted traffic. It's hard for you to make a sale if no one knows where to find the items you have for sale.

Finding products to sell isn't as hard as you think either. You can get started with some old CD's, movies, books, or clothes that you have lying around the house. This will help you get used to the whole process. Then you might start expanding your home business by cleaning out your garage, attic, or storage. If you can't find much there, take it a step further and swing by some local garage sales on the weekends. A lot of people sell their old stuff dirt cheap just to get rid of it quickly, or they simply want new. You can also offer to clean out or rearrange other people's garages. While there, if you find anything they don't want, tell them you will dispose of it for them. If you think it's something you could sell online, all the better. Now you are earning money from the service provided and the items that they gave you, not a bad home business.

When you get your items listed on the auctions, be sure you have taken clear, detailed pictures of all items. You know how the old adage goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Be sure to keep in mind that a picture isn't enough when selling your items at auctions. You will want to write a good detailed description of each item that you're going to list. Make sure to tell people things like how it looks (just in case the picture doesn't load properly or they just want to read about it) how old it is, any relevant history, what the current going rate is for a new item like yours and what the measurements are. People like to know what they're buying in advance and will most likely buy from the person who gives them the most information to better help make their purchasing decision.

Make sure you have a god descriptive title, not a flashy one. Flash will not help you to be found when someone is searching for you however, good key words and descriptions will be a big help.

Do some research looking at other similar items to yours and pay close attention to the ones that have the most bids. Then, look to see what you think made that item more attractive, and apply that knowledge to your own auctions. With some practice and effort, you could have a booming home business in no time at all.
