How To Enhance Your Own Ebook With Resale Ebooks

There is nothing like having your own product that you have created. Not only does it give you a sense of accomplishment and pride that you were able to create something of value but it gives you total control of your product. No one can tell you what you can or cannot do with it.

You are done with the ebook and now it is time to sell it. The easiest way to quickly get it to market is to sell it on eBay. You list your book, sit back and wait for the price to drive itself up with a host of bidders vying to win your wonderful book. Unfortunately, the only bid you received on your pride and joy is 99 cents. How can that book you slaved over for weeks only be worth 99 cents?

The short answer is it is worth a lot more that 99 cents but, you have to add some things to it to help it to realize it's full potential. There are several strategies to do that but they all require more ebooks. How are you going to get more books, this one took you months to write? The answer to that is to supplement your own unique book with resell rights ebooks.

You can create a real advantage combining your self authored unique ebook with some resell rights ebook bundles. Here is how it would work.

First of all, utilizing your own ebook, you automatically create an advantage for yourself. Because you wrote it yourself, you have a book to sell that no one else has. Because it is unique, because it is not the same dozen ebooks you see in every auction, you have an advantage.

Now add to that advantage a good collection of related books and you have a market plan. You can add resell books directly to the listing itself as bonuses. Once you do that you can justify a higher bid price. The other enhancement is to put together a one time offer with a bundle of resell rights books that your customer will see after he pays for your item.

Now you have added value on the front end with bonuses, or you have added value on the back end with a one time offer. Of course there is nothing stopping you from doing them both together. Then you really ad value.

It is very difficult to make a profit selling one book, even if it is your own unique book. By combining your self created book with ebooks with resell rights, you magnify the price and value of your own ebook. That is how the true value of your own ebook is realized.

Developing Your Home Based Internet Business Plan

No matter what type of business you are starting - a brick and mortar or a home based Internet business - you need a business plan in order to be successful. Your business plan will be your essential step-by-step guide to success.

An Internet business plan should include all of the following:

Business Summary
Business Objectives
Marketing Plan
Product Pricing
Payment Processing
Product Delivery
Start-up Cost

Let's take a look at each aspect of the business plan.

Your Business Summary

The Business Summary essentially sums up what your business is, and your business strategy. It may discuss items that will be further layed out later on in the business plan. Think of it as a Thesis Statement that is longer than one sentence.

Your Business Objectives

You can think of your business objectives as goals for your business. Here, you should describe your products and/or services, and state what it is that you hope to accomplish.

Your Marketing Plan

This is often the longest part of the business plan. In fact, many Internet business owners consider this to be the most important part of their business plan. In this section, you will include other elements of your business plan, including how your products will be advertised, how your product will be priced, information concerning your target market and your competition, how your product will be delivered, and how you will collect payment from your customers.

Most of this is self-explanatory; however, some needs further explanation. For example, you must identify your target market. This means that you will list all of the different groups of people to whom your product or service will most greatly appeal. With this information, you are better able to determine where and how you should advertise.

Identifying your competition is equally as important as identifying your target market. You have to know who the competition is, or you can't compete. You need to know what they are offering compared with what you are offering. What is it that makes your product or service stand out from theirs?

With the information that you have gained so far in the creation of your Internet business plan, you should list different ways that you plan to advertise.

You will also need to decide on all of the following:

Search Engines and Directories in which you will submit your site
Web sites in which you would like to advertise
Ezines you would like to advertise with
How and where you plan to distribute articles
How and where you plan to distribute press releases
Where you will place pay-per-click ads

And, any other advertising spots or ideas that you may have in mind.

Product Pricing

When you price your products, you have to determine a fair price for the product or service that you are offering, and the price must compete with what your competitors are offering. A good way to determine your price is to visit several other sites that offer products similar to yours. See what they're offering and how they've priced their product. This will give you some idea as to pricing your own product.

However, keep in mind, a cheaper price isn't always your best option. Many times, you will find that your potential customers will judge the value of your product by the price. If you price your product too low, your potential customers may think your product isn't very good. This is where the old adage "you get what you pay for' comes into play. Keep that in mind when pricing your products.

Payment Processing

The more payment options that you can offer your potential customers, the more sales you'll make. You will need to have the ability to accept credit cards, checks, and even money orders. If you don't have your own merchant account, you will need to use a third party payment processor, such as PayPal or ClickBank.

Product Delivery

You will also need to determine how your product will be delivered to your customer. If you have a digital product, you can set up a download page for your customers to download your product upon completing their purchase. If you have a physical product, you will need to decide how you will ship it to your customers.

Start-up Costs / Investing in Your Business

You will need to decide how much money you're going to need to start up your business and how much of your profits you will re-invest.

It doesn't matter if you're starting an Internet, or a brick and mortar business, there will always be a cost to get it going. However, starting an Internet business will be much less expensive. If you can't save enough money to get started, you may need to put it on a credit card or even get a loan.

If you are unwilling to invest in your business, you're setting yourself up for failure before you even get started.

Although this is a very basic guide to writing an Internet business plan and is far from complete, it will give you a basic idea of where to start. For further information, visit the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Although developing a business plan will take a little time, it will be well-worth your time and effort, as it will be your road map to success.

Unlimited Wealth From Three Magic Letters

During the 1980s, the internet was but an infant, and the selling and buying of real estate was where it was at for financial gain. Late night infomercials abounded with stories of how everyday people were making money by buying homes cheaply and reselling them quickly for profit. The secret never changed and is still the same today, it is all about location, location, location.

In the new millennium, the story is similar, but now pertains to buying and selling VRE, or virtual real estate. Those involved will tell you that this is one of the easiest and most gratifying ways to make money online.

Domain names, or in other words your address on the World Wide Web, are an easy way to profit from the internet. The most exciting part is that you do not have to worry about having to make huge investments. Worries about mortgage payments and all the other challenges faced with traditional bricks and mortar real estate are a thing of the past.

An average domain name can usually be purchased for less than ten dollars and be resold for several hundred dollars within a few days. Every day, people are buying and selling domain names through domain name registries, brokerages and auction houses in much the same way as stocks and bonds.

But unlike investing in Wall Street and the Dow Jones, the average investor can multiply their purchase price on the sale of a single domain. In fact, it is quite common to see a single domain that was purchased for $6.95 one day, sell for $2,000.00 or more in a matter of days.

In 2007, experts within the industry have stated that the domain name industry is fast approaching a $2 billion market. Even more astonishing is that these industry experts claim that this value will grow to over $4 billion by the year 2010.

Domain name speculation is becoming more than a hobby for some. Domain name expert and Canadian entrepreneur Kevin Ham began his domain name portfolio several years ago and has since grown his portfolio of 300,000 domain names into a $300 million empire. With average earnings of $70 million each month, Kevin is considered a master of the game.

One tremendously popular way of earning money is known as Domain Flipping. Everyday people are buying and selling domain names they think will have strong commercial appeal. Sometimes domains have just the right ring to them, they may have consistent traffic, or maybe have great content and products. The key is to find a good name and become a prime mover before anyone else does.

So just as real estate was the investment darling of the 1980s, it is likely that smart investors will diversify and add domain names to their investment portfolios now and in the future.

How To Find What People Want to Buy Online

Finding a good choice of idea or product is always accompanied by interfacing the demand for the product in the current market and the level of competition or market share that the product will be having in the long run.

What should I sell? What products are hot selling? These are the questions most people are trying to find an answer in order for them to make the definite decision. And if we really want to know the answer to this question, our only choice is to do some research.

We must be able to understand and satisfy the need, wants and expectations of our customers on a certain product that they're trying to buy. This three are called the basic needs or minimum requirements in a purchase.

Needs are the basic reasons or the minimum requirements consumers are looking for in a product or service. They are called the qualifying or 'gatekeeper' dimensions in a purchase.

Wants are the determining dimensions among many choices.

Expectations, on the other hand, are values or intangibles associated with a product or service. Expectations are actually part of 'want' but they become extremely important when products or services are not differentiated.

For example, in reading a logic book, university students look for the following: Relevant logic concepts use of simple language, easy to understand and affordable prices. These similar ideas can be applied to Internet Sales as well. After all, the Internet is just another place to sell products. The basic concept of demand is the same there as it is anywhere else, and has been all the time.

Now, the second thing that must be considered in finding 'hot' products to sell are the level of competition or the market shares do your product will have.

Market share or level of competition means the ratio of your brand sales versus the total market sales. While companies would naturally define its target competitors, it is actually the consumers who ultimately decide the competitive frame, or the list related products or services that consumers consider when exercising their purchasing power.

We must therefore choose the market segment where we can have a potential leadership or at least a strong challenger role. Because the overriding objective of getting into this business is not just to satisfy the needs and wants of our customers but to do so profitably better than his competition. Otherwise, our competition will end up satisfying the customers better than our own interest.

Third factor to be considered in finding hot selling products is finding out the general interest level about the product. General interest in a product helps us to gauge where our demand and competition numbers fall into the big picture. Simply saying, if there isn't much demand for the product, and there isn't much competition, it would seem that it might not be good a good put up for sale.

But the research doesn't stop here; there is one last thing to be considered to exactly find the hot selling products that you've been looking for. We must also learn how others are advertising those products.
If there are a good number of them doing so, it may mean that it's a good product to get into. Coming to the last phase of the process is analyzing and evaluating all the information that has been collected. We have to look at all of the data we have collected on demand, competition, and advertising, and make decision as how they all balance out.

And here are several factors or aspects that must be measured:
(a) not enough demand means not enough people are going to buy
(b) too much competition means not enough of a profit to go around
(c) too much advertising drives up the price of pay per click ads, and competition as well
(d) not enough general interest, combined with low demand, means there may not be a good market even if there is competition trying to make the sales.

The Next Generation Of Online Fraud Protection

Today's online world is one fraught with danger. At every turn internet users are faced with phishers, hackers, fraud and the threat of identity theft. This creates an atmosphere where users are not comfortable purchasing things online and merchants are being taken advantage of on a regular basis.

The Cybersource 8th Annual Online Fraud Report estimates that over $3 billion in online revenues was lost due to online fraud. The Internet Crime Complaint Center or IC3, which is a partnership of the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center, stated in its annual report that there was $198.44 million lost by consumers in the fraud cases that they referred to law enforcement agencies in 2006. The average loss per complaint was just over $2500.00. Both buyers and sellers lose when online businesses are vulnerable to ill intentioned web users.

There are generally 2 types of fraudulent orders that are placed online. First there is an order that is being placed merely to check the validity of the stolen credit card information. A criminal will go to a website where he knows that the credit card is going to be billed immediately for products and services. They will place an order for something that is usually about $100.00 or less. Once the order goes through and the credit card is successfully billed, they know the stolen information is valid. Then they are free to place the second kind of order where they are actually looking to receive the products that they purchase with the stolen credit card information.

Currently, some of the most popular online fraud protection solutions include address verification, card verification number (CVC2, CVV2, CID depending on the card issuer), and IP geolocation. The downside to these solutions is that the address and card verification number can both be stolen along with the credit card number and IP addresses can be masked. 81% of online merchants also use manual order verification. Besides the increased costs associated with the extra time and staff that it takes to manually review the orders, it also slows down the order process and extends delivery times.

Traditional solutions allow the fraudulent order to be placed and then attempt to weed them out afterwards. The next generation of automated online fraud protection solutions deter the perpetrator from placing the fraudulent order in the first place. Taking the crook completely out of the equation allows online merchants to focus resources on fulfilling genuine orders and servicing current customers.

One of these next generation fraud protection solutions that is gaining popularity among online merchants is televerification. Televerification works like this: When the customer goes to place an order, they are asked for their telephone number. An automated telephone call is then placed to the customer and they are given a unique security code, either through automated message or SMS. They then enter that unique code into the appropriate place on the web site in order to proceed with their business. The process is quick and easy, yet the protection it affords businesses and their customers is extremely effective.

Requiring the confirmation of a workable, traceable telephone number lessens the attractiveness of that particular online business to ill intentioned users. Criminals are leery about providing a legitimate phone number that can be traced back to them. The benefits that are inherent to implementing any automated fraud protection solution for online merchants still apply: reduced chargeback costs, reduced manual verification costs and increased user confidence. The difference with televerification is that instead of catching the fraudulent order after it has come in, it stops them at the door.

An additional benefit of televerification is the ease of which it can be integrated into an online merchant's existing website. All it takes is adding a few lines of code to an existing site that will allow it to interact with a televerification provider's server. Most applications can be up and running within hours, not days or weeks like some solutions.

With eCommerce growing 20% or more each year, fraud protection for merchants and customers becomes an ever increasingly vital issue for the entire online community. Billions of dollars are lost every year due to criminals taking advantage of the anonymity that the Internet offers. Previously, online merchants could only try to weed the fraudulent orders out from the good ones as they came in. The next generation of fraud protection allows online merchants the opportunity to stop the fraudulent orders from ever being placed.

Brandi Cummings, an expert author on the unique issues facing online businesses, recommends checking out http://www.ReduceFraud.com, a leading provider of online fraud protection.

Making Money With Ebooks - Top 3 Ways

There are a lot more than just 3 ways to make money on the Internet using Private Label Resell Rights also known as ebook resell rights. However, these are the top 3 ways to turn resell rights into a viable Internet business.

The third best way.

The third best way is to start a blog using the PLR that has been purchased. Don't just cut and paste though. Add your own flavor with personal experiences and stories. Make the content your own.

If the product deals with an area you are not familiar with or don't have experience don't just lie do some research and gain some personal knowledge on the subject. then change the content enough to reflect your own personal style.

Web surfers will be more likely to book mark your blog and come back for more in the future if the content is informative and personal. If your a newbie at blogging a good place to start is Google's Blog service. However, just having a blog doesn't make money. There are thousands of blogs out there that don't make a dime.

There must be some type of system to monetize the traffic received. Google Adsense, affiliate ads and the new PPP advertising are just a few ways to monetize blog traffic.

One note of concern with using the blog method is to make sure you don't just throw up all your content in one or two days. The best method is to launch your blog with one or two posts. Then, every day go back and add one or two more post.

Building your blog content slowly over time will give it more validity with the search engines. It will also keep your visitor coming back if they see new, unique, quality content being added every day.

The second best way.

The second best way to make money with PLR resell rights is VRE This is a term that was coined by John Reese. It stands for 'Virtual Real Estate'. The idea is to take the PLR content and simply turn it into a website using each page of content as a separate page of your website.

Once you have it ready simply put your Google Adsense code in the proper places on the web pages and bingo your VRE is ready to start making money. Again it is best to start slowly and build. A four or five page website is a good size and then add content pages little by little every few days or once a week.

The key is to have good content on each page along side the Adsense ads. Don't just throw up a bunch of spam sites with little or no content on them and think that they will produce hundreds of dollars a month. Most likely they will just get banned or de-indexed by the search engines!

The best way.

The Number one way to make the most money with PLR resell rights is to build a new product package from the resell rights. Then, do a full product launch! Although this is the most lucrative and has the highest money making potential, it is also the most time consuming and it takes the most skill and work.

This is not for the newbie or the faint of heart but it is the best way to make money with good quality private label resell rights.

Take the original PLR that was purchased and use it as a foundation or core. In other words build an entire new product around the old PLR. For example turn it into an in depth study course with multiple bonuses. This could be done by combining and editing several different PLR products on the same subject.

Once the editing process is done the next step might be to turn this final collation into printed form. Then, create some video tutorials and put every thing onto dvd. If the original PLR came with websites and graphics, redesign these or hire a web designer to create some new ones.

Since the old PLR is now a new product, the old web pages and graphics will not be sufficient any more. Plus, you do not want the new product to be connected to the old in any visible way. Now you have a whole new product package that is ready for a massive launch campaign.

Do you know what the number 1 way to make little or no money with your PLR is?

Simply do nothing. 90% or more would be Internet marketers fail simply because they do nothing or do very little. All the hundreds of dollars of PLR products purchased are sitting on their hard drive in the same location that it was downloaded. It's all just sitting there collecting digital dust!

Get out there and do something. At the very least get the website and graphics that may have come with the PLR published on the internet. Then start advertising it. If you have a small or non-existent budget start by using any free advertising you can find. A good place to start would be submitting articles.

John Atkinson is a successful internet marketer. His upcoming 2008 Private Label Resell Rights launch of Gold Standard PLR is called, by those who have had a sneak peek, "The hottest New PLR on the Internet!" http://www.heavyweightmarketing.com/gold-standar-plr

Customizing a Template Based Online Storefront

New online businesses are opening every single day so it can be difficult to figure out how to make your own online storefront stand out from the crowd. Most people want to set up their website as quickly as possible in order to start selling their products. As a result, they use a template as the basis of their design. This makes setting up the website easy but it can also make it look too similar to all of the other sites out there. To improve upon a template-based website, a good online business will use simple tools to customize the design of the site.

The easiest way to differentiate a new online storefront from the others that are available is to design an eye-catching logo and add it to the site. Businesses that aren't skilled at art and logo design should invest the money to hire a graphic designer to complete this work for them. A good logo will have a striking image, the name of the company and maybe even a short slogan, which says what the business is all about. Placed on the website, this can immediately attract buyers who stumble upon the site.

After a logo has been chosen, it is important to use the colors of the logo to make decisions about the primary colors of the website. This is one of the easiest things to change on a template-based website because color changes are generally built into the design of the template. Choose colors that are eye-catching and yet welcoming. Select a color scheme that is going to enhance your logo rather than take attention away from it. And make sure that everything is easy to read on the site once the colors have been changed.

Once you've made these basic changes, you should work on inserting images and video into the site. You don't want to overwhelm the site with too much material but you do want to have enough stuff on there that people will want to stay on the site for awhile. Video is great because it's a popular, attention-getting feature of good websites and yet it's not something that most online businesses are incorporating into their templates.

Finally a good online business will clearly tell visitors how this site is different from the competition. Modify the template of your online storefront to add text, which highlights the key reasons that your site should be the one that people do their shopping on. By making it easy for customers to see what is different about this site, you convince them in a matter of moments that they like what they see. This actually allows you to reduce the amount of customization that you do on the site because the seed is already planted in the mind of the customer that this site differs from the rest.

Some businesses find that they have a hard time making these changes themselves. Altering the color scheme seems simple, for example, but actually making decisions about which colors are right and wrong can be difficult and time-consuming. There are several solutions to this problem. One is to take a trial-and-error approach, asking for feedback from friends and associates. Another is to hire a designer to modify the online storefront template for your business. And finally, there is the option of working with the tools and resources provided by the company, which provided the templates. Any of these options might be the right solution for a business seeking to make modifications to an online storefront without investing a significant amount of money or time.

Looking to Make Extra Money on eBay?

For all of us there eventually comes a time when times are so tight financially, we wonder how we're going to get by. The vast majority of us are able to trudge through it and eventually come out on top. But a few of us will end up with insurmountable debt that forces us into bankruptcy.

Others still never do overcome the hard times and seem destined to be stuck for the rest of their lives, barely getting by, living paycheck to paycheck. Regardless of which category you fall into, you've undoubtedly thought at these times, "There's got to be some way for me to make a few extra dollars each month, just enough to take the pressure off!"

Thanks to eBay and the power of online auctions, literally millions of budding entrepreneurs have discovered the pressure-release valve of life by learning to make extra money on eBay.

The thing that has made entrepreneurship so difficult is that it requires a lot of time, commitment, and a thick skin to take on the constant rejection from potential supporters and insults you'll receive from customers. Along with all that, it doesn't hurt to have some big brass... well, you know.

eBay changed all that by acting as the middleman between the guy with the money (your customer) and the guy looking to take that money (that's you, the entrepreneur!) In essence, eBay does all the heavy lifting of finding and bringing the customer to you. And they've become quite good in this role.

Today, eBay is one of the most visited websites on the Web. And the majority of those visitors are there for one reason: to buy something. All you have to do is list an item for sale. This is where most people get turned off. Fear of technology, of registering an account, of giving up one's personal information -- whatever the case may be. If you're letting that stop you, you are really missing out on one of the greatest tools of the modern-day entrepreneur.

eBay's strength is so powerful that even corporate behemoths like IBM sell on eBay!

The first step to making money on eBay is to just do it! Go to eBay, register, list an item, and you'll quickly see just how simple it all is. Most people learn best by doing, so go forth and do.

Registration is a two step process that must be validated by clicking on a confirmation link that eBay will email you at the end of the process (so be absolutely sure that you use a valid email address during the registration process). The first step is to register as a buyer. Once you've done that, you can register as a seller.

Confused? Don't worry. Click the "help" link on eBay's site, then click "Learning Center". The Learning Center is full of helpful animated tutorials that will walk you through the process of registration, step by step. It's like watching over somebody's shoulder as they register so you'll know exactly what to expect when you go through the process yourself.

What Makes a Good Ebook?

One of the most prevalent and popular items to sell on eBay are ebooks. There are thousands of seller merchandising ebooks on auction every day. Some have created their own and some have purchased books with resell rights. Some have purchased books with private label rights. Some ebooks are very good and some are very bad, so bad they aren't worth the electrons they are written on.

Have you ever thought about what makes a good ebook? Could you tell the difference between a good ebook and some of the trash out there? This is something you really should know. If you are selling a product to your customers, you want to provide them with quality products. You certainly want to keep them happy and satisfied. You don't want to ruin a relationship with a paying customer that could cost you hundreds of dollars in future sales.

Because you want to take care of your customers and because you only want to sell them quality, you should know how to tell a good ebook from a bad one. It really isn't that hard, but so many sellers either don't know how to determine if a book is good or bad or they are too lazy to try. Either way, eventually it will catch up to them.

First and foremost, a good ebook must have useful and helpful content. It must satisfy someone's quest for information. It needs to tell people how to solve a problem or it needs to teach them how to do something.

A good ebook should have at least a foundation of proper English. It doesn't have to follow every grammar rule ever invented, but it should read clearly and make sense. It must have proper spelling. There is nothing that will ruin the credibility of a written document faster then bad spelling. It makes the reader question the validity of the entire book.

The book should be neatly presented. It should be formatted so that it is easy to read. Good ebooks look like someone took the proper time to make sure it is a quality book. Ebooks that have odd paragraphs, no header or footer, no page numbers, no headings or chapters make for poor ebooks. They give the impression that someone slapped the book together in a couple of hours just to get something they could sell.

The ebook should have a good looking graphical representation. That is just one more characteristic that says: someone took their time to create a good book.

These are the things you should know about in reviewing the ebooks you propose to sell. If you sell poor quality merchandise to a customer you will never sell him anything again. If you sell good quality ebooks, and your customer feels he received good value for his money, you could have a customer for life.

Online Marketing: Keep Your Website Healthy

The Internet has made it easier than ever to run your own business and be self-employed. Running a traditional "brick and mortar" store can cost thousands of dollars per month even if you do not make a single sale. You have taxes to pay and hefty advertising expenses. With the advent of the Internet, you can run a profitable business with virtually no investment at all and few ongoing expenses. The cost of a domain name is about $10 per year, and hosting plans are available for as little as $3 per month. That makes running a business affordable for just about anyone.

While it is easy and affordable to build an online business, it is far from the automatic process that it's often made out to be. Many people create their Website, list their products for sale, and adopt a "set it and forget it" attitude, thinking that once they set up the site to make sales, everything will run automatically from that point on. This is a shortsighted viewpoint, as a number of things can happen over time to a Website that might hurt your business without it even being obvious.

Here are a few things that you should check on regularly in order to make sure that your business Website is doing all it can for you:

Make sure that all information on the site is current, including copyright information. Did you have a sale last year and forget to take down the "Sale prices good through May 5" banner? Does your site still say "Copyright 1998" on the home page? Keeping these things updated tells your customers that your site is up to date.

Do your e-mail links or forms work? There is nothing more frustrating for a customer than to click on a "contact us" link only to find that it doesn't work. If the customer wanted more information about a product that he or she was interested in buying, that sale will go right out the window upon the discovery of a dead link.

Working order forms. The same thing that applies to your contact link also applies to online order forms. If you have a shopping cart system on your site, does it work properly? It's quite frustrating to try to add an item to your shopping cart, only to receive some sort of odd database error message. You need to regularly check all working parts of your site to make sure they still function properly.

Dead links. If you have links on your sites to other Websites, make sure that those links remain active. If one goes dead, you either need to remove it or replace it with another one.

These things may all seem rather simple and obvious, but all kinds of problems can show up over time. It only takes a few minutes per month to check your site to make sure that it continues to provide your customers with the best possible experience. Failure to do so can cost you both time and money.

Magic Headline Words And Phrases For Your Campaigns - Part 1

Many people underestimate the importance of headlines when composing web pages, newsletters, email campaigns and any other type of advertising. If a person is to read your web page the headline is what grabs them in and gives them the interest to start reading. If it's an email campaign of newsletter then the headline is what gets the prospective reader to open the message in the first place. If your headline doesn't appeal to them or at least attract their attention then, with the amount of messages most people are bombarded with every day, for sure your page will not be read or your email opened. Here are some phrases and words which grab attention or hold interest.

How To...
A "How To.." headline always grabs your prospect's attention because it tells them they are about to learn something new that could be of benefit to their lifestyle. This type of headline should get their attention and boost your email campaign. It's job is to indicate how to get their benefit cheaper, sooner, easier, etc.
Here's an Example: "How To Get Rid Of Your Debts In 6 Months Or Less!"

Unlock...
An "Unlock..." is a headline that grabs your prospect's attention because it's indicating this information is locked up and when something is locked-up it's perceived as having more value. Your product is the key that's going to unlock the benefit for them and this can only benefit to your email campaign.
For Example: "Unlock The Secrets Of Affiliate Marketing Success!"

Discover...
The "Discover..." headline gets your prospect's attention because it gives the headline a sense of adventure. It's just like in a story when someone discovers a lost island or a hidden treasure. Boost the results of your email campaign with this. People are suckers for a good story.
Example: "Discover the Hidden Niches That The Gurus Don't Want You To Know"

Exposed...
This sounds as though somebody was trying to hide something. Your prospects will always want to know what was being covered up and why. This works on the principle of people love to gossip.
A good example would be: "Million Dollar Affiliate Tricks Exposed!"

Explained...
An "...Explained" headline grabs your prospect's attention because it gives them a clear picture of a benefit they may not understand how to get. If there is something you don't understand and it could be of benefit to you, you'd want it explained wouldn't you?
Example: "Top Google SEO Strategies Explained!"

Breaking News...
Breaking news usually happens when it's really important and people are always interested in "The Latest" and usually can't wait until the normal news time. This type of headline is meant to make people stop what they're doing and take notice of the Latest News.
A good Example would be: "Breaking News! California Housewife Breaks The Bank With Google Adwords!"

Inside Secrets...
An "Inside Secrets..." headline demands attention because your prospects will feel that if they learn more information they'll belong to a select, privileged group of people. This is the "Club" mentality you're appealing to. It also adds a rareness to your product. Rare is always valuable. I have had several successful email campaigns using this phraseology.
Example: "The Inside Secrets Of Housewife Millionaires !"

Magic...
Very useful because it's almost everyone's fantasy is to have a magic tool or formula that will instantly give them their desires. People will always want to get their desired benefits with little or no effort. Magic implies easy and effective email campaigns have used this in headline for years. It's very effective.
For Example: "Awesome New Opt In Box Converts Like Magic"

Finally...
A "Finally..." Implies that the prospects search is over. They have been looking for this magic formula or that really cheap website maker and "Finally" they have come to the right place.
A Good Example is:
"Finally! An Acne Cream That Really Gets Rid Of Zits"

Guaranteed
This headline is very valuable and your email campaign will always benefit from using this because in the Prospects eyes you are guaranteeing the product and this removes risk which is a very strong emotion. Your prospects can allow themselves to get interested because even if they buy they know they have nothing to lose. It makes the most unbelievable headlines seem believable and true.
Example: "20,000 Web Site Visitors In One Week... Guaranteed!"

Time Sensitive...
The "Time Sensitive!..." headline is always just placed in front of the prospects desired benefit so they know they need to promptly read your ad. People hate to think that they may miss out on your time sensitive offer.
Example: "Time Sensitive! 10 Ways To Reduce Your Household Bills!"

How to Start Your First Business: A Guide to Creating a Successful Internet Business

The secret to starting your first business online and being successful at it is to have a clear purpose for what your business will be about. You should also have a definite plan for your business.

You should start by writing down what your business is about, who your customers are, and what you will sell.

Also, you'll need to set up a separate bank account, as well as buy a business license if your city requires one.

Once you've taken those preliminary steps, then it's time to dive into the task of setting up your business online.

Start with a website. Although many people dread this step, it's one of the most crucial to your success. Having a website will allow you to build your list of prospects, as well as sell your products and services.

It doesn't have to be anything complicated either. It can be something as simple as a lead capture page or you can use a content management system to build a content rich site.

Regardless of what type of site you choose, you want to get it set up as soon as possible so you can start promoting it.

Next, you'll need to consider your marketing plan. Creating an effective marketing plan really isn't as difficult as it sounds.

You have lots of options to choose from:

*Search engine optimization
*Linking
*Article Writing
*Press releases
*Blogging
*Joint Ventures
*Affiliate Programs
*Free Classifieds
*Social Networking
*Forums

There are many others, and how you market your business is only limited by your imagination.

When choosing how to market your business, you have several things to consider.

First, what do you like to do? If you hate to write, then you'll have a difficult time coming up with a good article even if you can write. If you've never written a press release before, it can seem pretty daunting, but you can still do it. You will simply need to do a little homework first.

Now, once you've chosen the type of marketing you want to do, you need to choose the sites where you will market. You'll need to do a little research.

Go to your favorite search engine and do a search for the type of marketing you want to do. If it's free classifieds, then you'll look for free classifieds ad sites. Don't overlook sites on your topic because these sites will actually be more targeted to your market than general sites, for example, article directories.

Select about five sites and then study those sites. Again, if you're doing free classifieds, you'll want to look at as many ads as you can. Study those ads. Which ads made you want to take a look at the actual offer? That's how you want to write your ads. The same applies to any other promotional material: articles, press releases, etc.

Once you've completed this task, write your sales materials and start posting. Then go and find five more sites. Test and track your promotions to see which ones get results.

By following these steps, you're now well on your way to starting a successful business.

How eBay Reviews Can Help Your Store

Traffic, traffic, traffic are the three most important things in maximizing your eBay sales. Those are also the hardest things to accomplish. Driving traffic to your auctions and your store takes a combination of all the tools available to you. One of those tools is the eBay review system.

There is a part of eBay known as Guides and Reviews. I wrote about guides in an earlier article so we are going to discuss reviews here. Reviews are similar to guides in terms of how they can help you drive traffic to your store. Reviews and guides are also similar to each other in how you set them up.

You go to the review and guides area of eBay and there will be links to click to start writing a review. If you already have written reviews, you can edit and find the status of those reviews from your My Ebay page. Over on the left side of the page listed among all the navigation links you will see a link for my reviews and guides. Click that and you will get to your edit page.

That's where the similarity ends between guides and reviews. With a guide, you can pretty much write about any subject you want as long as you write a basic how to manual about a specific subject. With reviews, it is a little different. First off, a review is as it's name implies a asked, not a guide. You must write a asked on a specific item.

There are only certain categories that you can write reviews for. Unfortunately information products, i.e. ebooks is not one of those categories. So how do you utilize reviews to promote your ebook business if you can't write reviews on ebooks?

Look at the categories you are allowed to write reviews on. One of them is books. Now, say you have a large collection of recipe ebooks or those that teach cooking. You can do a search on eBay for a cookbook. When you find one you want to review, click the asked link next to the description.

Write an honest review on the cookbook. In the review you can do a few things to reference your ebook store. You may indicate that you sell many cooking instruction ebooks at your store, slipping the URL to your store in there, and because of that you are considered an expert on cookbooks and that is why you are qualified to asked the cookbook.

Alternately, you may state at the end of the review, after you wrote your honest opinion, something like, if you enjoyed reading this asked of xyz cookbook, you may be interested in the dozens of cookbooks available at my digital store. Again, you put your store URL in the text so that the reader can click on it to get to your store.

I hope you get the idea now. You cannot do a asked on an ebook but you can do a asked on a related product and still reference back to your store. This is just one more tool in your traffic generating strategy. Make sure you utilize all the tools available when creating your marketing strategy.

Leaving eBay: Risking Your Business or Just Good Business

The recent decision by eBay to restructure its fee structure for sellers is getting mixed reaction among many long-time users and well as potential new users and much of it is not good. Many sellers, some who grudgingly but quietly accepted eBay's changes in the past are no longer willing to stay silent. And a new rule which eliminates negative feedback on buyers is adding to seller frustration. All this is leading some to take action.

A seller revolt is brewing and attempts are being made to muster support for a boycott that will coincide with the February 20th launch of the new policies.

CNN.com recently posted a number of articles surrounding the changes and the impact they're having. One of the more interesting articles profiled five former eBay sellers, all of whom have moved on from doing business with the giant auction site.

These five sellers were varied in their geographic locations, business size and seemingly, their personality. However they did strike a common theme: After a lengthy period of ever-growing frustration with eBay's pricing policies and bureaucratic difficulties, they've decided to take a different road. More are likely to follow them out the door, though like some of the five sellers, they won't be going it alone.

As is often the case in business, as in life, one man's trouble is another man's opportunity.

Many current and former eBay clients are being heavily courted by other auction sites and third-party stores. Amazon in particular is making headway into the third-party store arena with success and at least some of that success is coming at eBays expense.

One large former high-volume eBay seller, Bargainland, has even started their own auction site, Bidtopia.com. What originally was expected to be a "side project" is turning out to be much more as heavy interest from the public is causing Bargainland to commit significant resources to it's auction site's development.

It would seem those who use online auctions aren't waiting around for anyone to roll out the welcome mat. They're taking matters into their own hands and seeking out other venues on which to ply their trade.

However, eBay is not circling the wagons just yet. They state that 70% of sellers will benefit from the new fee structure and they can take comfort in the fact that many of their PowerSellers are not on board with the boycott. These sellers feel that boycotting hurts their business. Some are professional sellers with a lot to lose and have even expressed a desire to work with company executives on this and other issues. Many have built significant businesses on eBay and feel they have much to lose if eBay falters.

For those sellers, supporting a boycott would be akin to holding a gun to their own business' head and doing so simply doesn't make good business sense.

So, what is the right thing for your home based or internet business? If you're selling a unique, high profit margin product or have affiliate marketers doing the same for you this current situation may not have a significant impact. The same may not be true for businesses that require a high volume of sales to remain profitable. Low margins may well force many of them elsewhere. It also remains to be seen what if any impact this will have on eBay's fortunes.

Yet not all of the effects of the current and previous problems have been negative. One of the former sellers profiled by CNN.com even gave credit to eBay. Robert Tucker of KratomCafe.com thanked eBay attributing their current success to their willingness to leave eBay behind after finding the auction site too difficult to do business on.

Not all change is bad but only time will tell where the chips will fall on this one.

Earn Money Selling Products Online

According to recent publications, consumers spent more than $100 billion online at U.S. based e-commerce sites last year, which does not include online auction sites, travel spending, or corporate purchases. That's a significant increase over last year - more than 20%. There has never been a better time to be on the receiving end of that spending pattern, and the market keeps improving.

Many people start an e-commerce site as their primary business. If you have a brick and mortar store where you sell products or simply operate a business from home, starting an e-commerce site can provide an additional sales channel for you.

Creating a Web site for the purpose of selling products or services online entails a large amount of research and planning. When you start an online business, forgetting one simple step can make the difference between success and failure.

Here are 8 steps to help you get started:

1. Create a business and marketing plan. Schedule a time to meet with your business partners or team members. Brainstorm together and lay out all of your plans in one document. This plan should incorporate all startup and recurring costs. Set up an overall expense budget and sales forecast.

2. Choose a good Web site address (domain name) to help customers find you. You will need to select a domain name for the site that accurately represents what you are selling and helps brand your business. However, did you consider that the search engines will also be using your domain name as a symbol of what you sell? Give some thought to an appropriate URL and go shopping for one.

3. Select the right e-commerce software with a shopping cart. In order to sell products on your Web site, you have a few options. You can hire someone to develop custom online storefront functionality. However, most small businesses who are looking for more cost effective solutions purchase e-commerce Web site hosting software. This allows your customers to select products from your Web site, put them into the shopping cart on your site, and then checkout using their choice of various payment methods.

4. Apply for a business account (merchant account) for processing credit cards. It is critical to give your customers multiple payment options on your Web site. Most customers are accustomed to paying for goods and services online using their credit card. In order to accept credit cards as payment for your products, you must apply for what is called a merchant account. If you do not accept credit cards on your Web site, you are doing a great disservice to your site's potential for success, so make sure you apply.

5. Secure your site to let customers know it is safe to do business with you. As an online merchant, security is a key consideration for you. If you are going to accept consumer financial information such as credit card payments, you are responsible for ensuring that data is protected and secure and that you meet credit card company security requirements.

6. Design your site to be user-friendly. Once you have all of the products uploaded to the Web site and you can accept credit cards it's time to work on improving the site's appearance before you go live with your new online storefront.

7. Test the site. You only have one chance to make a first impression with each visitor, so be sure that you test and tweak your site before going live with it. Plan at least a few days or weeks to do this. Make sure everything is working properly or all of your efforts can be for naught.

You might try inviting a few friends to help you test the site. Ask them to visit your Web site while you watch their browsing behavior. Try not to say anything as they click around. Give them fifteen minutes, and then ask them about their experience.

8. Promote your site online. Promoting your site on the Web can be expensive and complex, but taking advantage of search engine behavior to drive targeted traffic to your site can result in a favorable long-term return on your up-front investment, whether that investment is your time or money.

Using these tips, you can quickly and easily start selling products online. It may seem a bit daunting at first, but is actually quite simple. There are many vendors who can help fulfill the needs laid out in each action step. Simply visit Google and search for a place to buy a domain name (eg. GoDaddy.com), an e-commerce platform, and so on. Follow these steps and in no time at all you'll be up and running.

The Anatomy Of Cost Reduction

It would be hard to imagine a world where an online shop didn't exist. While many industries have benefited from online shops, the Auto and mobiles industry are among the best examples of what technology can do.

In a nutshell, online shops have enabled cheap cars and Nokia mobiles to become cheaper and consumers aren't complaining.

How Manufacturers Cut Costs in Online Shops:
Manufacturers of cheap Nokia mobiles or cars have seen a lot of success with online shops but where exactly are they cutting their costs? Oddly enough, most of the cost-cutting is done via the mail and printing departments of a company.

If information on cars or a Nokia can be found on the internet, customers will be much more likely to search the Internet first and save the company printing costs. It doesn't sound like the advent of these online shops would decrease the overall cost by much, but Cisco and Xerox have reported that it has saved them millions in cut costs.

More importantly, Auto and phone companies can cut labor costs. Since a lot of business has shifted to the online shop, no longer does the company need as many physical stores or employees. While online shops could never fully replace physical locations, they do indeed help reduce production cost by a large factor.

The Benefit of Online Shops to Consumers:
Consumers benefit when the manufacturer benefits. Since the manufacturer has less production cost, it can pass the savings onto the consumers. This enables more customers to buy cheap Nokia phones or cars opening up business to more potential clients for the manufacturer.

But consumers also appreciate the ease of online shops. One can order a cheap Auto or Nokia is minutes compared to the longer wait endured by driving to a physical location, waiting in line, and then finally speaking to the support representative. Compare this to the instant transaction over the Internet, and you can see why online shops have become so popular.

Lastly, customers can appreciate the lack of interaction with a Nokia or Auto employee. Humans make mistakes, and therefore, create problems. An online shop is much less resistant to problems: boosting both customer satisfaction and company stability.

Compare and Contrast The Best Benefit of Online Shops:
To cap it all off, we have the best benefit of online shops: the ability to search for the best deal. If you were to search for a cheap Nokia or for cheap cars in the physical world, you'll likely meet a salesman. These salesmen only want to make a sale for their company- not help the consumer find the best cheap Auto or cheap Nokia.

This can be contrasted to the world of online shops which can be compared to other online shops so that customers get the best deal. This ensures that consumers who do a little research will ultimately find the best Auto or Nokia deal possible by bypassing the middleman and going straight to the source.

In the end, we can all thank online shops for the cheap mobiles and cars that we are able to afford. Without the aid of online shops, we would have to resort to dealing with pesky salesmen. It's times like these that it's good to have technology on our side.

Use Ebooks And EBay Give Your Marketing A Double Boost

Ebooks and eBay are a great combination. Ebooks are a perfect product for eBay with no inventory, no carrying costs, no shipping and they never run out. EBay is the perfect venue for ebook sales. It is the largest online marketplace in the world. It is the site with the largest collection of buyers with credit cards in hand desperately looking for something to buy. What better environment could there be for selling ebooks?

The best part of the whole system is, if you do it right, you can boost your sales in twin fashion. Let me explain. Generally ebooks, with few exceptions, sell at the auction site for somewhere between a penny and ten dollars. More are closer to the penny price than to the ten dollar price. To be perfectly honest, it is hard to make a profit when selling items at very low prices. The fees from eBay will eat up your profits on the front end, and your fees from PayPal will get whatever profits are left over on the back end. That doesn't leave you with much to show for your efforts, unless you properly utilize a sound ebook follow up strategy.

Successful ebook sellers do not make money on the small sales of ebooks through their auctions. They make money from follow up sales through their store where they have more profitable books listed. You try and entice your customer who just bought your 99 cent ebook to go back to your store and buy a ten dollar book. Now you have turned a 99 cent sale into a 10.99 sale.

There are a number of ways to drive that customer back to your store. First you always have links to your store in your listing. A buyer that is not interested in the item for auction, may look at your store for other items.

Another way is to induce your winner to go to your store by offering an incentive such as a two for one sale on any book he buys from your store in the next 24 hours. But getting them back to your store isn't the only strategy. You can double the effectiveness of your ebook sale on eBay by sending them to your off eBay website where you still have more higher margin books.

The easiest way to do that is to create an off eBay download page where your winning bidder goes to get his item. From there, you can get their email address and market to them with an email campaign or you can offer them a one time offer of bundled ebooks or both.

Creating additional sales on top of the first small sale is how the successful ebook sellers make substantial profits. By targeting your customer to visit your store and your website you are creating a double advantage through one small sale.

Why Some Ebook Sellers Give Up

Ebay is the largest online marketplace in the world. It is estimated that one third of all internet traffic goes through eBay each month. The best part is, that traffic is made up of buyers trying to find something to spend their money on.

Ebooks are the perfect items to sell on eBay. They have none of the drawbacks of physical products. There is no up front inventory cost, there are no storage problems or storage costs, there is no shelf life to worry about, they won't go out of style every spring and fall, you can sell as many as you want and will never run out and you never have to ship ebooks.

Sounds like an unbeatable combination, the perfect selling environment and the perfect item to sell. Everyone should be making a killing! If that's the case, why do so many ebook sellers give up after only a short while of selling ebooks on eBay? What are they doing wrong?

Sellers who throw in the towel because they are not making a profit, have made the mistake of not thinking through a complete marketing plan. They have only put into place the very first part of a successful plan and then they stop. They have not thought their strategy through to the end goal.

There is a saying that you hear all the time while learning how to start or improve a business. That saying is "If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail." As common and overused as that phrase is, it is absolutely true. That is why most unsuccessful ebook sellers on eBay quit.

No one makes money selling 99 cent ebooks. The economics are against it. Between the eBay fees, the PayPal fees and any picture hosting services you may use, there isn't enough to cover those costs with a 99 cent sale. This is where 98 percent fail. They stop after the 99 cent sale. If they stop there, then there is no way they can keep going.

What they have failed to do is take the next steps. The next part of the 99 cent sale is to turn that into a ten dollar and ninety nine cent sale. If you can do that on every sale, now you are going to start showing a profit.

There are strategies using your eBay store, your about me page, your guides and review pages, your ebook delivery system, your blog and your My World pages all together to get your buyer to where he will gladly buy more books and create a larger sale. It just takes a plan.

The successful sellers on eBay know this. Now you do too. Now you know what you need to do to be a successful ebook seller on eBay.

The History Of The Birthday Card

It is widely accepted that birthday cards originated in England more than a century ago. Unfortunately there is no evidence of who sent the very first card and nobody knows the identity of the person who received that very first card.

A persons birthday was considered a special event and they were greeted personally by their friends and family. The people who were unable to this in person sent a birthday card instead.During this time a card was considered more of an apology than as a greeting. It was only in more recent years that birthday cards have been regarded as expressions joy.

The significance of the birthday card is to convey hope and good will to the person receiving the birthday card. People now use birthday cards as a way to tell the special person of their true feelings that they may find a little difficult to express verbally.

Today there are many card styles to choose from, catering for almost every age range, gender and taste. Many people want the card to say how much they love them or to wish them good luck in the coming year.

Humor is another type of card and is typically sent by someone who likes to laugh a lot. Many of the humorous cards relate to a subject that the recipient finds funny and over the last few years many are now of a rude nature. A lot now relate to the age of the recent and make fun of them getting older.

When people first started sending birthday cards, they would never have imaged how far the cards would evolve or what the subject matter would diversify out to. The first birthday cards that were sent never mentioned or displayed the age of the recipient.

The birthday card now falls into the category of a greeting card. The greeting card can be traced all the way back to the ancient Chinese. They would send out goodwill wish cards during the New Year. The Chinese are not the only ones who thought to do this; in Europe in the 1400s, people also exchanged homemade greeting cards which in time became a tradition.

Today there are many different birthday cards to choose from. As well as the traditional birthday card, there are funny cards, modern cards, floral cards and a big trend towards cards relating to specific relatives. There is now also a big switch to handmade cards and lots of birthday card manufactures are now using recycled paper to make the cards.

A birthday card can be as special or as silly as you want it to be. The standard card size is 175mm x 125mm but card manufactures are now making extra large jumbo cards. There are no rules as to which type of cards you may send, though common sense should be used.

When sending a birthday card through the mail the card should arrive one day before or on the actual birthday of the one receiving the card. The advent of the modern postal system has helped swell the numbers of cards sent dramatically from the days that the card was delivered by horse and cart.

The manufacture of birthday cards has now gone full circle with China now becoming the largest manufacturer of birthday cards.

A birthday card now brings great joy to billions of people who receive them around the world. Little did the inventor of the birthday card all those years ago realize just how popular and everlasting the trend of sending birthday cards would become.

Andrew Gibson is MD of The Card and Gift Company. It is one of the fastest growing online retailers of birthday cards. To see an example of why The Card and Gift Company is growing so rapidly have a look at http://www.thecardandgiftcompany.co.uk/Cards/Birthday-Cards/Funny

Web 2.0 Domination With Web 2.0 Goldmine

Web 2.0 has taken the internet by storm. Essentially, Web 2.0 marketing is done to enhance the natural or "organic" rankings of a website to drive targeted traffic to a site instead of paid advertising. This method is done by getting a large number of "backlinks" or "crosslinks" with other websites and your own website URL, or address that gains the attention of the search engine algorithms. However, it is considered by most to be tedious and time consuming to generate a Web 2.0 campaign to effective gain large amounts of free, ongoing traffic to your website. In a nutshell, Web 2.0 is the use of free links to build a broader Web presence- usually gaining the attention of the search engines when they find your website URL in hundreds of locations across the internet.

This is most effectively done via the term called "backlinking" mentioned above. In essence, it is utilizing the various means of social networking and social news sites across the internet and distributing a large number of links to your own website address. Herein lies the challenge. To post to literally hundreds and hundreds of locations on the internet can be an extremely daunting proposition to most. Even more daunting of a task is to continue this posting process time after time, day after day. This is usually done by posting articles on blogs or other social networking sites, posting of videos on video sites- and by putting up what is called a "lens" on other sites- all of which have your website address on them.

Effective knowledge of how to implement a Web 2.0 campaign can also be quite difficult to learn as there are so many sites and techniques available to the website promoters. What is needed is an effective educational tool that helps the average business person understand the concepts of Web 2.0- and then outlines a complete and comprehensive plan for ease in implementation of what has been learned. The resulting traffic from learning Web 2.0 concepts can be very rewarding for any business. The world is changing- and any business that does not take advantage of these concepts risks being left behind. One inexpensive resource to review is a new ebook called Web 2.0 Goldmine. This ebook walks the user through basic to advanced techniques and tools to implement a comprehensive Web 2.0 campaign for any business that has a website- but with ease instead of the tedious postings of one site at a time. We encourage you to find out about how this inexpensive internet traffic and high rankings within search engines can be rewarding to your own business.

How To Create Your Own Viral Ebook From PLR Ebooks

One of the most powerful internet marketing concepts is viral marketing. Viral marketing is in essence, creating a product that you want to spread viral, like a virus, across the internet. To take advantage of that, you want to create a way for a reader of that ebook to get back to your website to make a purchase.

How can you create an ebook that will work in a viral marketing strategy? First thing you can do is write one yourself. Then it's easy to put any information you want in. What if you don't really want to write your own ebook, what if you choose instead to purchase a PLR, or Private Label Rights collection to resell? How do you turn those books into something that will help you virally?

The key to making an ebook viral is to be able to put links in it that will, when clicked, send the reader where you want him to go. In order to do that you will need to modify your PLR books, so the first thing you need to do is be sure that the specific PLR license you purchase with your collection allows you to modify the contents of the books.

The next step is to add links to your website at some appropriate places in the book. For example, if the book is about how to drive traffic to your website, and you have other books you are selling from your website that also are about generating traffic, you may put a link in an appropriate part of the book. Say there is a section discussing using articles to generate traffic, you put your link immediately following that section with a sentence saying "for more information about using articles to drive traffic click here."

You would do that for as many areas of the book that would be appropriate and for as many websites or products that you could link to that would make sense. But you don't want to just limit this to your own websites.

You should also use affiliate links. You should be able to find appropriate affiliate programs that can fit almost any part of any book on any subject. Do a search on Clickbank for appropriate affiliate products that would tie into your subject.

Create affiliate links and place them throughout the book just as you did for your own links. You want to create every opportunity for your reader to click on a link. Every time one of the links gets clicked, you have the ability to make money.

After you have spaced your links throughout the book, you create a resources section at the end of the book where you list all of the links again. Now you have added another place in the book that your reader has a chance to click a link that could make you money.

Once you have added the links to the body and the resource section, your ebook is ready to go viral. Let it loose and watch it spread through the internet sending tons of traffic to all the sites that can make you money.

More EBay Tools To Market Your Ebook Store

The biggest questioned asked by sellers on eBay is, how do I get more traffic to my store and auctions? Ebay has added a number of tools to help you generate traffic. One of the best tools is eBay Guides.

Guides is a tool you can use to teach about a certain subject or niche. Guides are exactly what the name implies, to guide visitors in some area of interest. A guide is a manual that gives directions. It is not for reviews. EBay has another area called the review area for reviews. I will discuss that in another article.

How do guides work? You access the guides area from My Reviews & Guides" on your My eBay page. You can manage the guides you've created. You can change your guide. You can publish a guide. You can also see the status of your guides. Those listed as displayed are posted on eBay, and everyone can read them. Not displayed are guides hidden from view, either because it is draft or it is in violation of some policy.

Guides listed as submitted are still under review. When you write a guide they are reviewed by eBay. If there are no problems with it, then after the review they make it live.

Now that you know all about guides, you are probably wondering, "but how do I use it to make money?" It is actually used similar to the way articles are used to market websites. You write a guide on a subject related to what you are selling. Your guide should be interesting and useful. When I say useful, I mean it has to have some value to the reader. If there is no value to the reader, he will not read much before he clicks away and will not likely read any of your other guides and chances are he won't do business with you.

If you write useful guides, eBay buyers will notice. They will look for and read your guide. Near the end of your guide, you should add what amounts to a resource box. This resource box will include a link to your store. When they come to the end of your guide, they will see your information and your store link and they will click the link, go to your store and buy something. At least, that's the general idea.

The better your guide, the more likely they will be to check out your store. This is the first benefit of your guide, directing eBay traffic to your store. There is another benefit.

When you write your guide, like any other content you create, you must think in terms of keywords. Keywords drive everything online. Like you would put appropriate keywords in your auction title, you put keywords into your guide title. You also select tags, which is really another name for keywords. Both of these keyword pieces of your guide will be searchable to anyone on eBay.

The biggest bonus is, the guides are also crawled by the search engines. You could conceivably be listed in search engine results from searches on your tags or keywords. You might be able to get off eBay traffic.

Guides can be a useful tool as part of your overall marketing campaign. To maximize your online efforts you should use every tool available to you including the eBay guides.

Ebay My World Can Drive Traffic To Your Ebook Listings

If you are a seller, selling ebooks on eBay, there are a number of tools that you may not be taking advantage of. One of the best is the relatively new My World feature.

As you most likely know, the more traffic you can drive to your auctions, listings and store, the more items you will sell. The problem is always, how to drive traffic. The My World feature can be a very powerful tool in your quest to generate more traffic.

First of all, let me explain what My World is. My World is a customizable page that every eBay seller has available. Even though you may not know it, you have a My World page. You can get to it even if you are not on the auction site. Just type into your browsers navigation bar this url: myworld.ebay. com/your-id where your-id is replaced by the id you use for eBay. You may have to type http:/ / at the beginning of the url.

You will be taken to your My World page. The fact that you can get there quickly from off of eBay is one of the advantages you can use to help market your ebook auctions and store. If you set up your My World page properly you may be able to have it show up in Google or Yahoo search results.

You can customize the page. This is where you can set it up to help your marketing. Things you can put on your page:

Feedback No choice with feedback. It will automatically be at the top.

Listings - Display your current listings and customize how they appear on your page.

Photo or Icon - You can put your photo or an Icon you identify with.

Bio - Besides putting any personal info you may want, you can also put selling policies and you can also create search tags. This is where you can start marketing from this page, by using good tags, or keywords.

Reviews & Guides - This is another area for enhancing your marketing. Start writing reviews and guides about the items you are selling. You can feature a subject that a group of ebooks you are selling are about. You can talk about ebooks and how someone can utilize your ebooks to make money for themselves. Use the guides to again tag with keywords and help sell your products.

Blog - This is a really powerful part of the system. You can set up blog entries that feature articles about your items. You can also use external url links from your blog to send your reader wherever you want, like your website.

Store - eBay Stores sellers will have their own Store module with customizable promotion. You can market your store from the My World page. Just one more piece of your marketing.

When you utilize all of these things together, the guides, reviews, blogs all tied together on this page, all marked with tags and keywords that the search engines can pick up, you can enhance your eBay and your off eBay traffic. It is just one more tool, one more advantage you can use to promote your online business.

Why Ebooks Are The Best Medium For Viral Marketing

There are many kinds of information products. The three most common are ebooks, which are written words in a file that can be read on a computer, audio products, which are generally mp3 audio files which can be listened to on a computer or on any mp3 player like an Ipod and video products, usually some form of mpeg files that can be viewed on your computer.

Of these three information products, the books seem to have the lowest wow factor. I measure wow factor by the price range the three types are generally sold for. Ebooks get a low price, video products get a high price and audio products prices fall somewhere between the two. Based on the perceived value of the three types, videos have the highest wow factor and ebooks have the lowest wow factor.

The low wow factor and their lower perceived value sometimes causes some online marketers to shy away from ebooks in favor of the other mediums. If they do that, they are making a big mistake and risk leaving a tremendous amount of revenue on the table.

The most powerful marketing tool in an internet marketers toolbox is viral marketing. If you can get a good solid viral marketing campaign going, it will dwarf all of your other efforts in driving traffic to your sites and your affiliate sites.

Viral marketing, in a nutshell, is utilizing an information product as a giveaway or as a resell item so that it spreads itself throughout the internet like a virus. What makes it so powerful is the speed with which it can spread and the amount of traffic you can direct back where you want it.

Nothing compares to an ebook for effective viral marketing. Here's why. If you have an audio product that goes viral, that is not a bad thing. If you have a powerful enough message you may be able to persuade many of those listening to it to go to your website. The problem is, an audio product is not clickable. In order for someone to go to a target site, they have to either remember the site url and then type it into their browser, or they will have to write it down and type it in to their browser later.

A video product suffers from a similar shortcoming. A video that goes viral can be very powerful. It could get thousands of views. How do you translate viewing a video to going to a target website? Once again, a video is not clickable. If you are directing your viewer to a website they usually have to type it into their browser like with an audio product. The video does have one advantage over the audio, you can program the video to send the viewer to a specific website upon completion.

If you send your viewer to a site upon completion, that's all you can do. Send them to one site. That's not a bad thing, but it is not as effective as a viral ebook. With an the book, links in it are clickable right from the screen. One click and your reader is at the hyperlinked site. So the reader of the ebook can visit a linked site in an instant.

Even that is not the biggest reason viral ebooks have such an advantage over audio and video. The biggest advantage is, you can have one link, two links, five, ten even 30 links throughout the book. You could be linking to 30 different affiliate campaigns from that one ebook. Your reader can visit one or all of the links. Your reader might buy one or many affiliate products from the links. You have multiple ways to monetize that book through as many links as you can reasonably embed in the book.

If you want to start a viral campaign, your most effective weapon is an ebook. Audio and video has it's advantages in your total marketing strategy, but for your viral campaign ebooks can't be beat.

Ebooks and Ebay: A Stepping Stone to Success

You want your piece of the pie. You want to make a living online. You want to be an internet marketer. You want to start the fastest way you can. To do that, you decide you are going to set up an ebook business on eBay. You can start fast with almost no investment. You have a built in traffic machine, the eBay site itself, and you are already to go. But you are not really ready for your online marketing career. Why not? Because ebooks and eBay are stepping stones to the rest of your internet marketing. You need to plan to take advantage of that stepping stone to really succeed.

There are thousands of sellers on eBay selling the same items that you are. For you to make a significant amount of money, you will have to sell a ton of books everyday. It is not impossible to do, but it is hard to do. If it is difficult, then why is the advice to start on eBay with ebooks offered so often by so many?

The reason is, you can make a living, and a good one, using e-books and auctions sites if you know how to leverage your sales. That is the key to successful internet marketing, leveraging your sales.

What do I mean by leveraging your sales? You should not be satisfied to sell an ebook to your customer. You want to sell more than one book. You want your customer to be worth hundreds of dollars to your bottom line, not just two or three dollars. That is what leveraging you sales is. Taking a small sale and turning it into a bigger sales.

To take advantage of leveraging you have to think beyond the single sale. You have to map out a strategy after the sale. You have to plan ahead of time how you are going to get that buyer to buy more from you. That requires planning ahead.

First on your plan is, how is the one book that your customer buys going to help you make money even if you can't get your customer to buy more from you right away. The way to do that is to make sure you have links to your products in the books and affiliate links in the books that you sell. That way, if your customer clicks on any of those links, while reading your book, they will end up at another sales page where you will make money.

Another part of your plan is to try and capture your winning bidder, while he or she is still in a buying mood. You utilize your download system to redirect your customer to other offers you present before they actually download their original item. You make them an offer they can't refuse loaded up with tons of ebooks and bonuses for a very reasonable price.

Not everyone will take advantage of this offer, but if it is done right, you will get a percentage of your buyers opting into this second purchase.

In the example above, you saw how we used just two additional strategies to add to our sales. We used links in ebooks and we used additional offers. There are many more ways to compound your sales. Your eBay sale is just the beginning of the process. It is just a stepping stone to more profits. Plan your path correctly and you will see your online income multiply.

Use Ebooks And Ebay And Start Your Own Viral Epidemic

How would you like to have product that promotes itself? You sell the product and every time someone reads it they come back to your eBay store and end up buying another book. Soon more and more readers end up at your store buying more and more items. All of this from one little ebook. Wouldn't that be great? That is exactly how many eBay sellers have utilized ebooks to multiply their business profits.

The system described is called viral marketing. It is called that because the marketing system acts like a virus. With a virus, one person gets sick. The sick person exposes three others. Those three get the virus. Each of them exposes three more, who get the virus and they in turn expose three more etc. Using that example of each giving three others the virus, after only 10 steps of viral exposure almost 60,000 individuals would have gotten the virus.

Now imagine instead of a virus, it was your ebook. One person buys your ebook with resell rights. He in turn sells it to three others who in turn sell it to three more, just like in the virus example. Again, if that cycle was repeated 10 times, there would be 60,000 copies of your ebook in circulation.

Now assume that you had put links back to your eBay store in that ebook. Now 60,000 consumers have the chance to come back to your store and purchase high margin ebooks from your store. Do you think you could make a decent profit with that kind of traffic?

Now let's go one step further. Suppose in addition to links to your eBay store, you put affiliate links to a number of related products. Now anyone clicking those affiliate links will be taken to the affiliate website where they can purchase the affiliate product. Every time an affiliate purchase is made, you get paid. Do you think you get make some good affiliate commissions with this system?

Now, this was an example using one ebook. What if you were selling hundreds of ebooks? What if they were all branded with your links and your affiliate links? How much traffic do think that would generate to your store? How much affiliate income do you think you could make?

What I just described is one of the main ways that the powersellers in the ebook category on eBay make a substantial income. They use the power of viral marketing to boost their profits. This is the difference between them and the ebook sellers who are trying to make a profit only selling ebooks for one time profits.

The power of viral marketing is enormous. Through that system there is great profit potential. That's how the most successful ebook sellers on eBay make their profits. There is no reason why you can't do the same.

Increased Security May Make Customers Flee

The motto of many organizations is "Customers come first." Read or hear that motto, and you might assume that an organization is bending over backwards to make life simple and easy for customers. But that's rarely the case. Such mottos are usually lip service rather than commitments that are enacted in reality.

Consider how so-called customer service usually works online. A Web site decides to become more secure by requiring you to select a more complex log-in name and password.

If you try to make this new selection on a Web site and make a mistake, you are usually advised to try again. Make too many unsuccessful attempts, and the site shuts you out.

You gnash your teeth in annoyance, but to no avail. You are being treated like a potential criminal trying to hack into the site rather than a confused person seeking a service.

Many such sites, especially for security brokerage firms, then make it very difficult to find someone who can help you. You can reach a human being by telephone, but that human being usually has no clue what the problem is. But before they can confess their ignorance, you have to answer several kinds of identification questions such as when was your last deposit, what was your last trade, and so forth.

Naturally, you cannot answer those questions in your paperless account without being able to open your account. Eventually, you establish that you are a real customer.

The clueless service representative then passes you along to someone who may have a clue. You start the whole identification process all over again with different questions that are all but impossible to answer.

It would be pretty funny if you weren't the one being treated like a new army recruit. Every time this happens to me, I find myself looking for a new online broker.

How is the problem ultimately solved? A programmer comes onto the line and makes the change for me. If the programmer is considerate, the person actually stays on the line until I succeed in making the change and can easily open and close my account. My anger slowly dissipates as we work through the problem together.

Now, I realize that such sites cannot have programmers talking every single customer through the change. But wouldn't it be possible to provide computer-based prompts that break the process down into little tiny steps?

An even better solution from my point of view is to issue a temporary password so I can take a second attempt at the problem online. With enough verification questions, surely that's as least as secure as making me mess around with the clueless representatives.

Increased security is fine as long as you don't lock customers out and frustrate them in the process.

Entrepreneurship and Michael Dell's: Content, Commerce, & Community

If you want to be an entrepreneur, who better to study than Michael Dell? He is an inspiration to entrepreneurs everywhere. Starting in his college dorm room building computers, his understanding of business has made him an icon of success in the arena of technology businesses.

In two keynote addresses given almost a decade ago, Michael Dell defined three principles or concepts for successful internet businesses. Much of what he suggested is now standard practice and in some cases has been taken further than he probably imagined.

Theses principles are sometimes referred to as the 3 C's. They are content, commerce and community. Careful study of these three principles can help entrepreneurs, those with home based businesses, and network marketers.

The first of the 3 C's is content.

How did Michael Dell define content? Listen to the words he uses to define it for the Detroit Economic Club on November 1, 1999, "The first stage of content means providing compelling information. This is how we started our online operations in 1993, when we put our technical databases online for customers to access. It was a relatively simple start, but it showed us the tremendous interest from our customers."

At the keynote address at the Southwest Government Technology Conference in 2000, he made similar suggestions to the ones he made earlier in that Detroit meeting.

He suggested this: "By content, we mean bringing information online. Anytime you have a form, a manual, or a document, put it online. This is the foundation of any Internet strategy. Once we brought information online, it became clear to us where the opportunities were in the transaction world: simple things like order status and commerce, and we have added more complex things over time. The key, again, is that it is experiential and you learn by doing."

If you want to be an entrepreneur, what is the content you already have, what content do you need to develop?
Look at your present or future business from the content perspective? Define your content. Learn from those who have created that kind of content. Do what they did to create it.

You need products or services to provide to customers. Make a list of the content they will need to explain, troubleshoot, access, or know about your goods and services. A viable business start-up needs content tied to real-world products or services.

The second of the 3 C's is commerce.

Read how Mr. Dell defined it in Detroit, "The next stage is commerce, which should be thought of as all transactions, not just buying things over the web. In fact, our first activity in this area had nothing to do with purchasing. It was simply order status."

A few months later at the conference in the Southwest he reiterated, "The second stage is commerce. You should think of this as any kind of transactions. Our first experiment with transactions really had nothing to do with "commerce." It was an online order status tool. We knew we were on to something when, in the first week, five thousand customers used this tool -- and we didn't even advertise that it was out there. This formed the foundation of our online sales effort."

He continued, "Our ultimate goal is to deepen relationships with customers by providing added convenience, efficiency, and cost savings, and a wider array of services. The Internet creates an opportunity to move these key transactions online and drive transaction cost to almost zero."

Does your commerce process resonate with Michael Dell's suggestion? Think about the last quote. "The ultimate goal is to deepen relationships." Commerce aspects may reduce costs and increase efficiency, but with a purpose. The ultimate goal is C # 3 which is community.

How important is community, the third C?

According to Mr. Dell, "The final stage is developing an online community. We are building two-way relationships over the web with both our customers and our suppliers." - Detroit Economic Club.

He went on to express the goal of "establishing communities of suppliers and end users that share common interests".

At the later conference in the Southwest he ended by observing, "In summary, the Internet is changing the face of the entire economic and social structure of not only this country but the entire world, and governments have a great opportunity to embrace it. We are seeing a transition from a brick-and-mortar government to an online government. The advantages will include things like velocity, efficiency, and a better customer experience."

The internet has matured since Michael Dell first talked about the 3 C's, but as a model they still make sense. If anything, community has become even more important. They are not a grocery list to pick one to keep and one to leave.

Today community is so important that it has ushered in a rebirth of web marketing, often called Web 2.0. It depends on social marketing, blogs, myspace and other elements to build that community. Content and commerce both serve the final C of community. It is in community where loyalities, relationships, and trust are built.

Where there is community there are repeat customers. Community-building is a vital skill to have if you want to be an entrepreneur.

Online Business Entrepreneur Talks About Linking And SEO

All online business entrepreneurs worth their salt know that to create a long term successful business it's virtually a necessity to get a good ranking in Google and the other Search Engines. Other methods of traffic generation such as PPC and even simply buying traffic can be useful in the short term but as 'Google Adwords'

'Cost per Click' seem to be rising all the time this 'bought traffic' is getting to be more and more a short term measure and not something webmasters should see a
long term solution to getting sustainable traffic to their websites.

When Google changed it's algorithm and decided to mainly rank sites according to link popularity this was the signal for lots of link farms to spring up and the
reason for lots of emails in our inboxes asking for reciprocal links. Initially people didn't really understand the fact that the pages the links were on had to be relevant to the subject of the linked website and you could have a Garden Online Business being approached by a Watches For Sale website for a reciprocal link. This was soon found to have no value and even relevant reciprocal links have now lost most of their value as Google rapidly became aware that people were merely swapping links to try to manipulate the Search Engines.

If you ask any Online Business Owner what they consider to be the most effective medium to long term solution to getting visitors to their websites they will tell You "Get as many inbound one way links to your website from other websites where the content on the page is relate to what your website is about."

This sounds very complicated - How are you to get webmasters of other websites to put a link on their pages to your website when they don't expect you to reciprocate?

The answer is very simple. The first option, and any serious online business owner should already have been doing this, is to submit your website to Website Directories. These Directories are nothing more than privately owned 'libraries' if you like where you can search for websites in different categories. There are lots of resources for doing this and you can even buy software to help speed up the process. Normally you enter all the details normally required by the Directories and then as you go to the next Directory in the list the software pastes the information straight in to the fields required.

The next option for getting quality one way inbound links is now considered to be one of the most powerful advertising tactics available and that is Article Writing and Submitting. Article Writing can have a two fold benefit for the online business owner.
1, The article is submitted with a resource box which contains a link back to the writers website. This is a one way - targeted - highly relevant link. Great stuff!
2, People go to Article Directories, where the writers have submitted their articles and read articles about things they are interested in. They are also allowed to take away these articles and use them for their own sites Providing they leave the resource box intact - that's another quality link back to the online business owner's website.

Also people very often click these links in resource boxes, especially if it's a well written article, which brings instant traffic.

A well written article properly submitted can bring the online business owner highly targeted traffic for years to come, not bad for an hours work.

eBusiness Solutions - Why Your Small Business Needs One

The rapid growth of the internet commerce in recent years presents established small businesses with a serious dilemma. On the one hand they can stick with the business model that has worked for them for the last number of years. On the other hand, they can make the shift to serious eBusiness.

Choosing to stand pat is usually much easier in the short term. But in the longer term this almost certainly means they will be left behind by technology, and lose many of their most important clients to more aggressive competitors.

But shifting to eBusiness may involve committing substantial resources to developing a new game plan. That usually means refining product lines to make them easier to sell online, upgrading computer systems and websites, and training personnel at all levels to be more web savvy. It also means developing or hiring staff to handle the administration of new marketing, sales, and delivery systems, and working with outside consultants and service providers to handle the technical aspects of the new program that cannot be handled by your own people.

Is adopting an eBusiness Solution worth the effort?

Are the short term difficulties involved in making the transition to eBusiness worth the effort?

In virtually all cases, Yes.

It is like any other investment in your business. Some businesses look at the cost of upgrading production equipment or of renovating their office or retail space and decide it is simply not worth the cost. They decide the future is too uncertain to risk moving ahead, so they opt to tread water until either circumstances change, or they simply cannot continue any longer in business.

In this sense, choosing to stay abreast of technological changes is a business necessity. And these days deciding to get involved with eBusiness is the most important technological decision many current businesses will ever make.

Advantages of eBusiness

Here are some of the more important advantages of moving to eBusiness.

You can develop a more cost effective Communication and Marketing Strategy - The most obvious advantage of "upgrading" to eBusiness is that it gives you a vital web presence. In an upgraded "eBusiness environment" your company web site becomes the focal point of your communications and marketing strategy. And in an era when an increasingly large number of people are using the web as their first source of product and service information, "being there" 24/7 is extremely important.

You can reach New Markets World Wide - The internet offers exciting ways of reaching new markets that could only be dreamed of in the past. There are methods of promoting your products online that allow you to precisely target the customers you are after whether they are in your town or on the other side of the world.

You can reach Local Customers and Prospects more effectively - Until recently, companies offering a product or service to local customers could not see the benefits of having an online presence. But as more and more people become comfortable with using the internet instead of traditional advertising sources like classified ads or yellow pages, having an aggressive web presence makes better business sense even for local companies. This may also offer a springboard to developing new markets further afield.

You can cut Advertising and Marketing Costs - Online advertising is not only more efficient, but it is often less expensive than traditional advertising. After sales training expenses can also be reduced by utilizing online seminars, training videos and tutorials.

You can streamline the Ordering Process by taking orders online - Implementing an online ordering system allows you to eliminate manual paper work or telephone order taking. It also offers the possibility of integrating your sales order system with order fullfillment and delivery so customers can be up to speed on the progress of their orders at all times.

You can cut Communications and Telephone Costs - While the costs of voice communications using long distance telephone services have been coming down rapidly over the last few years, switching to an eBusiness model offers the possibility of totally eliminating many of these costs. Of course there is traditional email. But beyond that there are systems like "Live Help" where customers can chat live with support or sales staff. And the most recent development is VoIP (Voice Over Internet) which promises to completely revolutionize telephone service.

Finding the right eBusiness Solution

Every business is unique, so every business will require a unique eBusiness solution. Chances are most small businesses will not have the resources inhouse to make the move. In that case they should find an eBusiness solution provider that takes a comprehensive approach to each situation. Rather than offering a pre-packaged program, they should be able to look carefully at a business and make recommendations based on its specific needs. That includes the ability to provide staff training and ongoing support long after the initial system is put in place.

Are You Looking For The Best Home Based Businesses

Even the best home based businesses cannot help you make money unless you are willing to work. Many people have the wrong idea when it comes to making money online or with a home based business. They believe if they find the best home based businesses, they will not have to do any work. They believe they can join something and then just sit back and watch the cash roll in.

They believe they will get rich overnight and with very little truth. This is the reason so many people are not making money online or with their business. They believe they can get something for nothing. This is completely false and a complete lie.

Any company who promises to build your business for you is lying to you. No company will build your business for you. It just does not happen. There is no such thing as something for nothing. Everything you do in life requires work and lots of it. There is no such thing as the quick fix. Once you realize this you will have put yourself in great position to become successful.

Many people never realize this and they end up jumping ship from company to company always looking for that quick fix, that will solve all of their problems. They are looking for that business that will make them rich while they watch football or Dancing With The Stars.

Well I am here to tell you it does not exist. To be completely honest with you, you are better off not spending your money to build a business. If you are looking for get rich quick and something for nothing schemes.

Anyone who has made a lot of money with their business will tell you it took work and dedication. I can guarantee they have worked their behinds off to get to where they are at. It was not something that happened overnight. They worked their business daily until one day they became successful. They worked and worked some more until they were finally able to accomplish their goals.

The good news is if you can get this get rich mentality out of your system and really focus on building your biz. You can and you will become very wealthy. It is a proven fact for any business owner. Once they truly focus on building their biz, they begin to achieve what they want. Sitting back on the sofa and not working will not get you any closer to becoming wealthy but working your biz daily will help you become wealthy.

Looking for the best home based businesses will not help you out any, if you are too lazy to actually work your biz. No one will build your biz for you, it must be done by you and for you. This is the only way to succeed with a home business. There is no other way.

Like I said before if you are not willing to work your business daily, then you are better off using your money for something else. But if you are truly dedicated and determined to building a successful home business, the rewards will be more than you ever dreamed of.

Here's How To Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now winning in this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is hot. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try to choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, your main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are on the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

Affiliate Marketing: Some Effective Promotion Techniques

There are many ways to earn money on the Internet, with more being created every day. The World Wide Web offers a number of moneymaking opportunities that don't exist in the brick and mortar world, and with the economy slumping, more people are trying their hand at working for themselves. One of the most popular ways of making money online is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a process where an individual promotes or advertises a product sold by another party. Should a customer buy that product, the individual who promotes the product to the buyer receives a portion of the sales price. The process is a win-win situation; the seller gets advertising for his or her product, and the affiliates receive cash for products they neither have to stock or ship. Adding to the simplicity of the affiliate marketing model is the fact that many products sold in this way are downloadable products, such as software or electronic books.

How might a prospective affiliate promote such products? Here are a few examples of effective means of promotion.

Build a review Website. This need not be an elaborate Website with hundreds of pages; a simple site with just a page or two will often suffice. The review can consist of an overview of the product, a list of its features, and a summary of how that product will solve the buyer's problem. The site can then include a link for the buyer to click on in order to purchase the product.

Review the product on other Websites. Sites such as Squidoo or Scribd.com allow you to publish all sorts of information; that could include product reviews. With these sites, you won't have to have any knowledge of creating a Website, as you only need to use those sites' simple and intuitive user interfaces to post your review.

Write reviews of the product and post your reviews to online article sites. There are hundreds of Websites that offer articles for the public to read or for Webmasters to use as content for their own sites. Any article you post on sites such as Ezinearticless.com or GoArticles.com are available to be reprinted elsewhere, and anyone who does so is required to retain the biographical information for the author. This information can include links, so a few articles published here and there can spread like wildfire.

These methods are relatively simple to employ and are quite inexpensive, making it quite affordable for even the most cash-strapped individual to get their start in affiliate marketing. Success, of course, comes with time, practice, and diligence, just as it does with any other avenue of work. Still, the benefits of affiliate marketing are numerous, and it costs so little to get started that anyone can do it.

Powerful Words and Phrases for your New Internet Business

When marketing your new internet business try using the phrase "invest in our product" instead of the standard "purchase" or "buy". This will make readers feel they're investing in their future if they spend their money on your product. You should also tell people how much others have benefited from your product by showing testimonials of people who have used the product and seen the benefits or made money .

Include the word "simple/easy/straightforward" in your ad. People love straightforward ordering, easy payments, easy instructions, simple to use, etc. For example, you could always say, "It's the easiest way to lose some weight!" Another example could be, "It's really easy to order - just click here and fill out quick form!"

Use the words "sale/discount" in your ad or web page. People love to find bargains. They could be one time sales, rebates, percentage offers, Buy one get one free (bogof) offers, etc. You could possibly say something like, "Get a 50% discount if you order before (the date)!" Another example would be, "Order before our buy one get one free sale finishes!" To get your new internet business of the ground you should at least try this tactic a couple of times.

Always use logos and slogans for your new internet business. They make it easier for people to remember and identify your business. This is called branding, for example, how many times have you had a problem or need and the first thing that pops into your mind is a remembered business logo or slogan. It's really like an automatic reaction and this is why Big Companies spend millions 'branding' their product. This is more of a long term benefit to your new internet business but vital nonetheless.

Always include the word "testimonial" in your ad. People these days really need to see believable proof before they buy your product. It should be reputable and specific proof. You might say, "Check the terrific testimonials we have received!" Another example could be, "All these testimonials below were given voluntarily without payment or prompting!" Give your new internet business a head start with this proven tool.

Use the word "fast" in your ad. People want fast results, fast ordering, fast delivery, etc. Nowadays, most people usually value their time more than their money. For example, you can say, "Our product works really fast!" Another example, "This will save you hours." Most people with new internet businesses miss this.

Stress the idea of "new" in your ad. People always crave new products or services that will improve their lives like new technology, information, results, etc. I good phrase would be "Learn a NEW revolutionary way to lose weight!" Another example is, "New! Pre-Release!..."

Always try and get the word "free" in your ad somewhere. People are used to free incentives before they do business on the internet. They can be free e-books, services, accessories, etc. You might say. " Free shipping with every order over $100!" Another example could be, "Order within the next 10 minutes to get 4 extra bonuses free!" Try to always increase the value just before the point of sale just to tip fence sitters over to your side. Your new internet business will really benefit from this.

Feature the word "important" in your ad. People hate to think they're missing important information that could affect their circumstances. People will stop and take notice. Possibly your headline can read, "Important Warning!" Another example might be, "Important! Don't miss this!..."

This may seem strange but always put emotional words and phrases in your advertisements. Use words like freedom, love, fun, security, relief, happy, satisfaction, etc. An example would be, "Imagine meeting the love of your life and feeling the joy of happiness. You'll have the security and peace of mind of knowing you won't be alone again." Purchases are nearly always based on emotion rather than hard nosed facts. Exploit this and your new internet business will flourish.

Always use the word "guaranteed" in your ad. People want to be assured they are not risking their hard-earned money buying your product. For example, you could say, "Our product comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee!" Another example would be, "Don't forget our product comes with a lifetime guarantee!" If you are a new internet business then this step is vital to give you some credibility.

Try the word "limited" in your ad. People perceive products that are exclusive or rare to be considered to be more valuable. For example, you could say, "This special edition will be limited to the first 500 who order!" Another example would be, "Order before (date) to get this limited version of our e-book!" Your new internet business could really benefit from this tactic.

Always show your readers how much enthusiasm you have for your product and business and write accordingly. If you can convince your reader that YOU are enthusiastic about your product then they will be enthusiastic too. For example, you can say, "I'm REALLY EXCITED about our new widget!" Another useful example could be, "I can't wait for You to experience these results!" Enthusiasm is an emotion and you need to create these positive, exciting emotions in your readers whether in email marketing on on your web page. Manage this and your new internet business will become an established internet business in no time.

The Essential Guide To Baby Toys

Keeping your baby safe is one of the greatest concerns of any new parent. The numerous newspaper headlines of babies being rushed off to hospital after being involved in accidents involving toys does not help new parent's confidence. What new parents have got to do is take care when they buy their new baby toys and be careful how they treat them in the house.

They are now greatly aided by new EU regulations that have placed rigid rules on toy manufactures. This has resulted in the actual safety of the toy itself greatly improving and now moving the emphasis on toy use safety back onto the parent. A new parent's major concern over baby toy safety should be focused on the suitability of the toy for the baby.

New regulations clearly state on each toy what age range the toy is suitable for. The danger now lies in the parent providing a toy that is unsuitable for their age range. A good example of this is when the baby has an elder sibling and has access to their toys that are inadvertently left lying around.

When buying new baby toys all new parents should check that the item has a CE mark or Lion Mark. If the product carries one of these marks the parent can have the assurance that the toys are manufactured in line with a strict set of criteria's. Parents must be cautious of toys that do not carry these marks. They should assume that they are totally unsuitable and as such are not safe for the baby. A good example of such items is usually cheap toys available at market stalls or prizes at fair grounds.

The new parents should also check carefully the quality of the toy. Be especially vigilant when looking for small parts that might easily become detached. This is especially important if the baby is under three years of age. The danger lies in the baby trying to swallow the loose bits which may result in them chocking to death.

It is widely accepted that you should never give a baby under the age of three any toys that are less than 35mm. Again if swallowed these may again result in the baby chocking. Other things to watch out for are balloons. Many parents make the mistake of allowing their babies to play with balloons without any thought for the consequences of the balloon bursting and the baby then swallowing it.

Parents should also be vigilant of grandparents wheeling out their old favourite toys. One of the classic examples of this is the game of marbles. Years ago marbles were popular for young children before people became aware of their potential dangers. Many grandparents still have their old marble sets and allow babies to play with them without realising the potentially fatal consequences.

Other areas that should be watched out for are toys with ribbons attached as again the baby may chew on it and choke. Also try to avoid allowing babies access to toys with magnetic parts and regularly check that the toys are in good condition. Basically use good common sense and good housekeeping techniques.

A good source of advice and common sense is other parents. They will have already gone through the learning curve that you are about to experience and most will readily share their experiences and advice with you. Also remember that the toy is for the baby and not for you. Many new dads make the mistake of buying a toy that they would like and not what is suitable for the baby.

Earn Money Online in 2 Easy Steps

Generally, there are two types of work at home agents: those who are earning money online and everyone else. Now while there are numerous methods to earn money on the internet those who are making real money online have employed these two tactics.

1. Market research

I'm still surprised at the number of work at home enthusiasts who jump on the boat without doing any sort of preparation. All business, big or small, online or off, should have a business plan. Statistics show that most online businesses fail within three years. This may be due to the fact that 80 percent of online businesses do not know their target market is and what their needs are. This is the result of not doing market research and creating a realistic plan to reach their goal.

Market research entails hanging out in forums, participating in discussion groups, and networking on sites that are related to your business idea. Your target market is comprised of a group of people who make up a certain age group, race and gender who share similar interests and needs. This need is what you want to tap into because this is how you're going to earn money.

Let's say for instance, that you wanted to create a home decor business. During your market research you realized that just-out-of-college students were finding it difficult to keep their new homes trendy with their small budget. Instead of building a website all about general home decor information you would want to focus on targeting young adults and first home buyers.

Your business plan should include your competition-who are your top competitors and what are they doing-potential profit margin, the cost of advertising, methods of generating free traffic, highly searched keywords for your niche, as well as knowing whether your target market is growing or decreasing.

All this information is necessary because it helps to reassure that this is in fact a viable business plan. It also allows you to discover problems those in your target market have and how to solve them.

Once you've gathered this information you can then begin to create a product that serves a need. All target markets have a need and in order to earn money online you have to meet it.

2. Create an information product

There are many ways to generate an income online. However, the method that most successful work at home gurus use is by creating their own information product. For starters it's fast. If you write well, you can have your own information product in less than a day. If not, you can hire someone to write it for you. Another reason is because it's cost effective. "No shipping fees" has a lot of appeal online. And because you don't have to worry about shipping and postage it a hands free method of earning money online.

Going back to the home decor example, your research proved that there are a lot of new home owners that want a nice home with very little to spend. Your e-book could then be about interior design tips for those on a budget. Write your e-book, set up a payment system and then promote your e-book to your target market.

Creating a business plan is the first and most important step. It arms you with the information to earn money online. With this information you can then find out what problems need to be solved within your target market and create an information product to solve it.

The Ins And Outs Of Web Service Hosting

Let's jump into the ins and outs of web service hosting. Let's cover some of the basics of web hosting first. Ok, here we go, buckle up.

Don't sign long term contracts without receiving a sweetheart deal and guaranteed upgrades to the service so you're not the old maid two years into your service. When it comes to bandwidth more is always better, but it adds to the cost. However not as much as going over your bandwidth limit and taking a ride on the charged per byte train. It only has one stop, and it's not the happiest place on earth if you know what I mean.

So what else does a fresh faced netizen like you need to know about the wild wild web? Well you're going to need a way to generate your web content and a method to get it from your home system, if that's where you make it, to the web hosting provider's servers. Most hosting services now provide some form of content creation built into the backend of their software packages which means if you can't afford the latest adobe software package you're not left out in the cold.

Several different types of WYSIWYG, or What You See Is What You Get, editors are available. These types of content creation systems bear a passing resemblance to your everyday word processing program to make it as easy as possible for the novice designer to use them. Simply type in your content add colored boxes or textures where you need them and the system handles writing the code, providing the correct syntax and placing it in the correct location on your server.

These systems while not as robust as commercial applications are head and shoulders above what you used to be provided with. An old school text editor which you had to hand code line for line. Thankfully we've evolved, though some of us have more than others.
So let's say you have a desktop publishing package your comfortable working with and want to handle building your site offline before posting it for the entire world to see? Nothing wrong with that, and let me say I like your attitude.

After building your site you're going to need another piece of software to FTP your data to your hosting provider. FTP of File Transfer Protocol is the simplest most universal way to transfer data over the net. This is one place where the gods have smiled on us because there are several free FTP software packages available to make this as painless as possible.

A second option if you happen to own Microsoft office is to use the office program frontpage. Frontpage contains not only a WYSIWYG editor but also has a suite of simple easy to use upload software that most hosting services allow integration with.

Hosting Packages And The Terms You Need To Know

Man oh man, are there a lot of strange terms that you have to learn when it comes to web hosting packages. If you're a first time web user you might not know the difference between a FTP and a HTTP but not to worry. In this article we're going to walk you through some of the most common terms your likely to run across in your excellent internet adventure. Or if not excellent at least satisfactory. You have to start somewhere.

Price is as good a place to start as any I suppose, and with several different pricing tiers and pricing structures to choose from web hosting providers don't make it easy. Do you need high bandwidth lots of storage space and high guaranteed uptime?

Then you're going to be looking at managed data hosting, which can carry a price tag ranging from tens of dollars a month to thousands depending on your sites size and traffic. You don't need that many hands on help with your site?

No problem. A completely vanilla, middle of the road hosting service will run you anywhere from six dollars to thirty dollars per month. Discounts are often available if you opt out of monthly payments and sign up for a yearly contract. Much like cell phone providers hosting companies are willing to wheel and deal with you the longer you're willing to sign a contract for.

A good rule of thumb is to never sign a deal lasting longer than two years. And even then only do it if you receive an amazing price reduction. The speed with which advances takes place not only in speed but in storage, bandwidth and reliability mean you never want to be tied to a service provider who is not staying on top of the latest advancements.

The next major consideration is storage and bandwidth which were tackling together. These two while not dependant on each other all the time are usually marching in lockstep from a need perspective. Disk storage is the term your provider will use to discuss the amount of space your website takes up on their server, while data transfer covers the amount of information you move from your server to your users on a monthly basis.

Data storage as a general rule is not that large a consideration since most websites rarely exceed 100MB. However bandwidth can kill you since it is treated, again, like cell phone service. Once you hit the limit of what you pay for you are then charged by the byte. This is also known in financial circles as getting bent over the barrel.

Especially with a data or media intensive site too much traffic can kill you from a financial standpoint. For instance, if your website is media heavy and serves up 50MB of data to every user that comes to the site, you're going to burn through a 20GB bandwidth cap on your 400th visitor. That's 13 people per day and you're busted!

Zebra S4M Barcode Printer- The Next Generation of the Stripe Series

Has Zebra answered the question of - What ever happened to the old Zebra Stripe Printers? The New S4M series barcode printers by Zebra provides the rugged metal case along with the side loading print head design that makes loading media a snap. But will it endure the long lasting tradition of the old Stripe?

This printer comes with either a 203 or 300 dpi print head and has various memory options. The nice thing about this printer is the price and its ability to get the job done in a semi industrial environment. Remember, this is an S series printer and is mainly used in manufacturing, logistics, transportation, ticketing, healthcare, postal offices, and government work environments. It matches up pretty close with the old Stripe.

There are now many other brands in the market including the Sato CL408 series that give this printer a run for the money. This is an affordable solution for many labeling requirements using thermal transfer barcode capabilities. This is a very reliable and durable barcode printer but it is limited in the number of options available in distribution.

The Datamax M class printer also fits into this category for light industrial use. The Datamax printers come with a variety of options and are very easy to calibrate when changing media often.

The S4M is available with many configurations and is made in the US. Parts are readily available and from our testing and opinion, this printer wins out with overall quality, performance and serviceability.

If you plan on running more than 100,000 labels a day though, you may want to move up to the XI series though. Our recommendation is to use this printer for volumes under that quantity. Zebra makes a wide variety of printers for any volume need. Zebra starts with the small desk top printers that have a small footprint and can fit on the side of a desk. These are for very small runs were the need is for just a couple labels at a time. The TLP2844 is one of the most common barcode printers in this category.

The next category of printers by Zebra is there light industrial, commercial printer. That is where the S4M printer fits. The next generation in the legacy Stripe Series, the S4M is an easy to use metal printer that offers an outstanding value for many applications. Other printers in this category are the ZM400 known for its metal enclosure and support for multi-language printing that make this the choice for versatile, high-speed printing in any type of business. The ZM600 combines ease of use with enhanced productivity and a rich set of options, in a 6-inch wide format. Last is the 105SL with a durable and reliable metal construction, for experienced users that need a rugged printer for common industrial applications. These barcode printers are made for light to medium use in industrial and commercial environments.

Another category is the heavy industrial printers. This is where the XI series fits. They are designed for continuous use operations. Within the XI series there are 4 main printers. Starting with the 110xilllPlus which is designed for high duty cycles in harsh environments, then the 140xilllPlus designed for 12dpi print speeds and mission critical reliability. The last 2 printers in this category are the 170xilllPlus is ideal for AIAG, ODETTE, and UCC/EAN-128 labeling on demand or in batches and then the 220xilllPlus which is meant for chemical-drum, banner-size, and other wide-label applications, with advanced printer management tools.

With all of this background, any business should be able to find the right Zebra barcode printer for the appropriate application. Making the correct choice for your business will make for much easier label printing down the road. All of the commercial and heavy duty printers listed above utilizes 3 inch cores and 8 inch outer diameter rolls of labels allowing for continuous printing with less media loads.

John Barth founded Adazon Labels and Barcode Equipment http://www.adazonusa.com in 2003 and has a wealth of information in the barcode arena from over 20 years of experience in distribution. John's experience allows companies to cut costs on barcode labels, custom labels and total barcode solutions.

Business Consultant - Work At Home Internet Business Or Scam?

In your efforts to find a business opportunity to use so that you may work from home, you may have run across a website that offers you the ability to become a business consultant. The website looks great: it is professionally done, does not feature the usual fare of changing fonts and reproduced checks, is devoid of get rich while you sleep promises, and to boot the business opportunity would make you a franchisee of a nationally recognized company without having to invest an arm and a leg! To say that you are intrigued is an understatement, but is this a genuine work at home internet business or is it a scam?As odd as it may sound, the answer to this question depends on you!

Consider what the opportunity may afford you.In a business to business marketing effort, you will deal with professional clients on a daily basis, using your interpersonal skills to help other business professionals succeed in their chosen professions. You will combine your knowledge of software applications and also hardware peripherals with your understanding of a business needs to ascertain if their technical needs are being met or if additional software solutions will spell increased profitability and productivity for the business. As you recognize the business needs, you will make suggestions on how to increase the business internet exposure and visitors and therefore increase the amount of qualified leads that may introduced to the business without the company having to increase its advertising budget.

All of these facets are part and parcel of becoming a business consultant and while many of the websites who offer you this kind of franchise opportunity promise that with their training and promotional materials you cannot help but succeed, the Net itself is at times the most compelling proof that this is not always the case.

Consider the fact that in order to become a business consultant you need to actually understand business on an intuitive level. While you might be trained to a certain extent, being able to quickly grasp a business and operating your franchise from a position of authority born from knowledge or experience, book knowledge will not make the sale.

Similarly, when deciding if being a business consultant is work at home Internet business or scam, consider other franchisees. Run a search on the business. If you find that other franchisees are running sites much like an affiliate network, you can quickly ascertain that rather than being a franchisee, you will become more of an affiliate marketer or part of a multi level marketing downline than an independent entrepreneur. As always, you cannot make something out of nothing, just like you cannot make a business consultant out of a novice who is truly clueless when it comes to business matters at hand.

Conversely, if you are not only Internet savvy but also have a keen sense for business, you may not have had a lot of training or education in the field, then this might be an opportunity worth looking into. After all, every successful home based business begins with the entrepreneurs talent or special skill and builds on it!

The Best Web 2.0 Marketing Strategies

What exactly is Web 2.0?

Almost everybody seems to be talking about Web 2.0 these days. Never mind the fact that many people throw around the term without knowing too much about it.

Do you do that too? Don't worry. You're not alone. But it's time you explored what it was.

Before we get into Web 2.0 software and define what it is in dry as dust terminology, take a moment to answer my question: What do these websites have in common: wikipedia, del.icio.us and Ning?

The answer is simple really. They are all websites that aim to use the power of the information highway (a.k.a the Internet) to hook people together. They look to users to create quality content, share expertise and provide balanced opinions (and checks) through social interaction. Their fundamental ideology is this: people have an axe to grind, so, why not let them do it in public? Give them a place to express themselves and the resulting system will grow exponentially. Obviously, social networks built around a common theme are quite successful.

Web 2.0 decoded

Web 2.0 marketing strategies consist of a number of Internet marketing software that operate on the belief that when you invite your users to create and contribute to your content pool, you will get unbelievable volumes of traffic. Participating in these kinds of strategies can raise your profile and help you promote your business, products or services.

As you know, there is a hot race to possess certain pockets of data. So, what do you do if you're not the only one to own that data? The next best thing. Shout the loudest, so people flock to you for information and don't go to your competitors for it. The one who shouts the loudest gets the meatier portion. It's as simple as that. Harnessing collective intelligence is how O'Reilly defines it. Directing hordes of traffic is how web masters see it.

"Getting repeat visits from users is what selling is about."

People who browse the net have very short memories and they will dump you if you don't keep yourself in the full blast of their view.

"Social Bookmarking is a potent Web 2.0 Marketing strategy. "

It helps you attract targeted traffic to your website.

Is it really everything it's made out to be?

If you run a website, you already have an idea of the adrenalin rush that web masters feel when they open their web page and see a sudden explosion in the number of hits their page landed. You open your inbox and there is a clump of messages clamoring for attention. 'Delighted' does not nearly explain the feeling. I mean, how do you feel when you're almost dead sure that there's a pot of gold waiting for you just around the corner?

Social bookmarking is one of the most potent types of Web 2.0 software used to build traffic to your website. I am talking about serious web traffic, the kind that registers hundreds of new visitors and a couple of thousands of repeat visitors every day. Yes, with social bookmarking, this scenario is more than doable.

So, let us get you started on the social bookmarking gig right away.

traffic from today onwards!

The Challenges of Using Live Online Auctions

Using live online auctions can be a fantastic way to buy or sell items quickly, cheaply and easily. However, like any method of business, using live online auctions does have some potential risks that can result in loss of money, products any even your reputation. There are ways however to minimize the risks while buying or selling items online and to reduce the chances of the transaction going sideways by taking a few simple precautions.

The Most Common Pitfalls And Traps

Some of the most common risks that people have to face when doing business with live online auctions is the possibility of fraud, purchasing items that are not of quality as thought to be, losing items during shipping or purchasing items that cannot be exchanged at the buyer's wish. Internet fraud is now one of the world's most common crimes, with the monetary cost rising higher and higher each year. These types of challenges are more likely to occur due to the ability for both buyers and sellers to have anonymity online, hackers having the ability to access and steal personal information over the Internet and the length of time and distance associated in getting items shipped to you from the seller.

Learning to Protect Yourself

One of the best ways to protect yourself when using live online auctions is to always do your homework first and to be always on the cautious side. Make sure you get to know the person that you are dealing with, whether you're buying or selling. Familiarize myself with the different payment methods and consider what options you have for recourse if something should go wrong. It's also a good idea to read the terms and conditions of the seller that you're buying from. See whether not the auction site has some sort of an insurance program. As well, consider the value of the product you're buying and how you would feel about receiving the item late or not at all. Sometimes it pays to be patient and just wait instead of just buying an item on impulse just because it looked like a "great deal" and then ending up with nothing at all. One good rule to follow is; if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Reporting Fraud

Live online auctions have really revolutionized the art of buying and selling through the Internet. Transactions are more convenient and faster than ever before. However, on the flip side, it has also created opportunities for criminals and hackers to make an illegal fortune as well. Fortunately, Internet security has come a long way and is progressively improving as time goes on. It is important that we be diligent in keeping tight precautions in all aspects of online transactions. If you're one of those that have been victimized of Internet fraud or come across someone dealing in illegal activities on the Internet, it's critical to report it to authorities on your auction site. By doing this you could be saving someone else a lot of time, money and grief.

Some Free Ways To Make Money Online

When it comes to free ways to make money online there is no shortage of ways to do it. Of course if you have a product of your own that is the best place to start. What if you do not have a product of your own?

Here are a few ways you can sell stuff online with affiliate marketing to make money for yourself.

Affiliate Programs. Getting paid to sell other people's products is the quickest way to get going that I have found. Affiliate marketing has been around for over 10 years now and many people look at Amazon.com as one of the first companies to sell products this way.

You can make money selling clicks such as with Google Adsense. You can make money selling leads with affiliate programs like Max Bounty. You can make money selling products. One such way is to sell information products like you would find at ClickBank.

Another thing you can do is affiliate program directories like AssociatePrograms.com or Commissions Junction where they have compiled some of the best products to sell in one place.

Certainly network marketing also offers some great residual income for repeat business on a monthly basis. Many MLM companies will set up your customers and distributors on auto-ship and the products they order go out like clock work every month. When they do you make a commission every month just like clockwork as well.

Selling memberships is also profitable. This can be done through both affiliate marketing as well as network marketing. Getting paid over and over for making one sale is called residual income. Products that can be accessed online and offer value to your customer are great to sell. Paid memberships fit this description. Subscriptions on how to run a home business, personal development, paid newsletters on every subject imaginable, website hosting, autoresponders, and just about anything you can think of, offer you a chance to create residual income.

Two tier programs where you get paid on the sales of people you recruit work great for paid membership programs as well. Of course network marketing falls into this category and can even be better because you can make money every month on the sales of a large group of people.

The key with most paid subscription programs is you make a little bit of money on every sale. The first month this may not amount to much. The second month it can be more. In a year it can be quite a lot. Kind of like compound interest if you know how that works.

Free ways to make money online abound and it is really a question of deciding what interests you and what income model you want to use.

Secrets Of How To Make Money Online

Do you want to learn the secrets of how to make a living online? There are plenty of people offering their secrets to help you make more money online. The only problem is that as you trawl around the web searching out these secrets you soon discover they aren't secrets after all.

What you will learn is good, old-fashioned business common sense. These secrets will teach that some kind of a promotion is necessary to attract people to your web site. Once attracted, you need to entice people further with more offerings in exchange for their contact information (email address). As the saying goes, the money is in the list. You cannot run any kind of business online, or offline unless you have a list of potential customers.

So, the secrets that you are searching for online have been there ever since business began. Find something people want, entice them to connect with you, get their details and sell, sell, sell to them over a period of time to convert them from interested parties to confirmed customers.

But the one secret that is often missing from much of the information online has been around offline for centuries as well - be different. Don't try to be the same as your competitors. Stand out from the crowd. Do something different that gets you remembered.

For example, take the cab driver who gets the name and address of every passenger. Each Christmas they get a card from him. And guess what, people remember him and recommend him. He gets most of his fares from referral business, rather than having to wait around. Have you ever met a cab driver who sends all his passengers cards at Christmas?

Yet online, everyone seems to be the same. New online businesses follow the rules set by the experts and gurus. The result is that almost all web sites trying to sell something are starting to look the same. They all do the same thing - have a great offer and a box to fill in your details. Many of them even use the same templates. If you follow the "rules" that are part of the secrets you will end up following the pack and you won't be noticed. If you truly want to make it online, you have to be different.

So stand out from the crowd by being different - not just visually, but in the way you approach your readers. Do whacky things perhaps. You will be noticed and remembered - and online that's nine tenths of the battle. This is a simple but effective secret on how to make money online.

Why You Should Make Money Online

There is a very good reason why it is important to learn how to make money online.

Are you still working for someone and earning only a small amount of money just enough to make ends meet? Are you constantly being pushed by your bosses to meet your deadlines and have to stay for long hours in the office to meet the deadlines? The main question is that are you making enough money and still happy with your work? If all these questions are on your mind, it is time you start looking around for the abundance of opportunities that are available where you could make a living and be your own boss.

Now, in the new technology world, there is an abundance of opportunities available on the internet. All you need is a computer connected to the internet and you can start making money online. You could join affiliate programs where you could promote affiliate products and if you manage to sell them, you would earn a commission from the affiliate product.

You could also join Google AdSense in which you can put Google ads on your website and when somebody clicks on your AdSense advertisement, you will earn a commission from Google.

Above are just 2 example of how you could make money online with your website. However, do not expect to get rich overnight. You may have set up your website to sell affiliate products and put up some Google ads in the hope to make money. However, even with a good website, without any traffic it is useless as it will not attract any visitors or sales.

There is a lot of effort that is still needed to research on how to build a good website with quality content and bring traffic to your website.

Start working online a few hours a day to learn as much as possible. You will be surprised to see that many people online are able to give you valuable advice and help you during your initial online adventure. Once you get the hang of the techniques to make money online, you will finally realize that you can do it too!

Learn as much as possible and once you are sure that you are confident enough that your online earnings are enough and stable to sustain your living, you should start considering becoming your own boss and work online full time.

When you learn to make money online, you open up a whole new world of freedom. You'll make more money. You'll have more choices. And you may even get good enough to be able to decide if you want to quit your job and live your life your own way.

Accepting Credit Cards For New Businesses

If you are starting an online business you must accept credit cards for payment. You simply have no chance of surviving in business if you don't.

Businesses which are new and small and have sales under $750. each month, can probably get away with a Pay Pal type account to get started. But once your business grows to over $750 per month it will most likely save you a lot of money and aggravation to get your own merchant account.

For those who you who have recently started an online business and who are new to the world of electronic payment processing, it can certainly be confusing.

Here are a few tips:

Take note of the fact that almost all merchant accounts have a monthly minimum. That means you have to produce a certain amount in monthly fees otherwise the bank charges you the difference. Usually the monthly minimum is $25 with most credit card processors.

So what this means to you is...if you only expect to do only $200 to $300. in monthly credit card sales, it will not make sense to do your own credit card merchant account because of your responsibility to pay the monthly minimum. In this instance you will save money by using a company like Pay Pal. But as your sales approach and exceed $1000. monthly it will be less expensive to have your own credit card merchant account because when you have your own account, the rates are usually much lower.

Another issue to look at initially is whether you have the ability to actually swipe the customers card through a credit card terminal. The rate for swiped transactions are much lower than keyed in or online rates. The term keyed in simply means that you are not swiping the card. So when you are looking at rates online don't look at the lowest rate that is advertised because that will always be a so-called retail rate which means you would have to swipe the card through a credit card terminal in order to get that rate.

Online merchants should also find out if the credit card processor provides a secured gateway as part of the package. You will save money if the card processor provides this service ,otherwise you will need to use an outside service. An outside service will charge setup fees and usually an ongoing monthly fee as well. The best bet is usually to find a processor that can provide one stop shopping for online merchants.
Remember it is always wise when shopping to look beyond the come on rate. The devil is always in the details, so read the fine print.

The Ten Secrets for Successful Internet Marketing In the 21st Century

Internet research group Netcraft reported that there are now over 100 million Web sites on the Internet. That is a far cry from the few hundred that were around when I first started using the Web in 1995.

In that time, the rules have changed. Things that used to work even a few years ago no longer work now. That's why I have decided to list these "Secrets" for successfully marketing yourself on the Internet now.

Secret 1. Friends, not strangers

Use the Internet to market to "friends" (existing clients and customers), rather than just looking to get new customers ("strangers").

Secret 2. High margin, not high volume

Create product/service bundles that have high value and high profit margins, rather than trying to sell low-margin items to lots of customers.

Secret 3. Lead with expertise, not sales

People search the Internet looking for information. Give them the information first, before you launch into your sales pitch.

Secret 4. Sell on value, not on cost

Your customers do not care how much it costs you to provide your products and services. They care about the value you provide.

Secret 5. Generate leads, not sales

It's tempting to think that you can do the entire sales process on your Web site, without any effort on your part. This is possible, but DIFFICULT. Use your Web site to generate a new lead for your business, and then take over to deal with the customer directly to make the sale.

Secret 6. Find a market niche, not a wide spread

The Web is now much more competitive than ever before. The successful Internet marketers focus on a tightly defined, highly specialized niche market rather than trying to be all things to all people.

Secret 7. Build relationships, not transactions

All the money is in the customer, not in the first sale. Foster the long-term relationship with your customers, and they will keep coming back to you for more.

Secret 8. It is still about people, not computers

Regardless of the technology, it is still about people buying from people. Make sure your Web site and e-mail marketing talk to the person sitting behind the computer.

Secret 9. Create intermediation, not transparency

There is so much information out there now that your customers are clamoring for experts to sift through it and deliver it in a way that provides meaning and value.

Secret 10. Market offline, not just online

The Internet is just another marketing tool. Do not rely on Internet marketing alone. Combine your on-line marketing with off-line marketing methods as well.

OK, thats it! If you put any of these ideas into practice, I can almost guarantee that you will make a significant improvement in your Internet marketing.
